a friend of mine is moving down there to NC from CT. For what she bought a 1200sq ft condo up here for in a bad area she paid for a house with double the sqft in a good area....

yah for $500,000 you can get a really nice 3000 s/f home in a great area. if you're willing to live in the burbs you can get that plus a lot of land.
