so after all this time, I get an interview with a local architecture firm: Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects in downtown San Diego. It's a part-time marketing position. 250 applicants applied for this and so far, I'm one of the top contenders they say and want me back next week for a second interview with the principals.

We didn't talk money yet, but I'll be lucky to get $15/hour. That's the kind of money I was making when I first started out in 2000. Two years ago I made over 6 figures and it comes down to this.

I guess life puts these obstacles in front of you to keep your modesty and your integrity and to remember not to take everything for granted.

Well I'll be going to school part-time this semester studying some more graphic design and taking a few history classes so it works for my schedule. They want someone long term for a few years and I told them that after December, I would like to go full time status and they said they liked that idea.

Of course I'll have a baby (fingers crossed) by March, so maybe I'll stick with the part-time and be the home maker.

^^^Whewwww, that was a nickname that Ggirl responded too a long time ago. I called her that once, she liked it, it stuck.

Kind of like when we call GZ, Lord of the Realm or Infiniti514 parrot, and then 14cent.

payscale is lower here in San Diego and they're looking for a part-timer. also they're a small firm, i checked 'em out and they only made about $3million last year gross. I mean, I'd love more, and I'll ask for more when they ask me, but if we settle, that's the lowest I'll settle for.

at the moment, people are taking lower paying jobs just for the networking, and that's what I want to do. i don't know the architectural/construction community here in San Diego and this would be a great first step.
