Let me start by saying that I have always hated the dentist. Someones hands in my mouth scraping at my teeth with a pick is not my idea of a good time. I prob haven't been to a dentist for at least 3 years...
This visit was awesome! I think the addition of TVs in the chairs really helps out alot. Watching sports center kept my mind off of the scraping etc..
...and I have a very clean bill of health. I should floss a bit more she said but other than that everything looks good...She didn't even believe me when I told her I sometimes partake in a pinch of tobacco a few times a week....
Thats all...
i didnt even know they sold chewing tobacco up there. people down here in 'tobacco country' don't even do that anymore...
really? When I went down to SC this past year everyone was doing it. Bumperstickers everywhere and every gas station had just about every type of dip made..
really? I have always thought of NC being a bit more backwoods...I am not talking about you this time..just in general a bit more hick-ish
there's some of that in like the mountains of NC. there's lots of pickups and some rebel flags, but as a whole it's not so bad.
in contrast, a friend of mine is a contractor for the cable company and he gets sent down to SC frequently. one place he was telling me about, just outside of the capital city, Columbia, he said they literally did not have doors or windows in the houses... like something out of a 3rd world country...

ehh... aside from Myrtle Beach and Charletson, i would stay away from the entire state of SC. Whereas NC has a lot more in the way of larger cities, industry, pro sports teams etc.

There are a few places in SC that I thought were pretty nice Hilton Head being one of them. I have driven through NC and SC dozens of times and I always thought of them as one giant state of hicks...I have only stayed in a few places in those states and they have been mostly seaside resort type places..Honestly anything south of DC I have found to be very hick-like(no offense to anyone here). The areas seem to be poorer than the North East, less built up, and EVERYONE moves so much slower. Everyone up here is in a rush to get wherever they are going.

well of course, hilton head is an island. anywhere on the coast (just about) is going to be nice.
i can see what you mean about traveling through under developed areas and slower people. although in my travels up north i have found that just about every state (even NY) has places like this if you get far enough away from the bigger cities.

I guess I am just used to Mass, CT, NY, and NJ's hustle.
I blew up a van motor on my way down to GA with the bikes at 4am in Perryville Maryland one time. Everyone in that town shared one tooth!...And this place was next to a major interstate highway!
It is crazy to see how some people live and I guess I just take for granted sometimes how easy it is to access things (malls, autoparts stores, grocery stores, etc).
