Honestly, we have some awesome management. Most all of the employees I work with are awesome, we generally have a great time working there. As for gaining weight and the ass crack thing, I actually lost about 25 lbs and have been keeping it off from all the walking I do there. Unfortunately, we just lost one of our best managers to a car accident when his buddy was driving his G35, flipped it at around 100mph. It's been a sad few days.
Some things like HDMI cables and car audio are marked up ridiculously. Other things, like laptops, we actually sell them under cost. And others, like Wii, PS3, Bose and Apple stuff are price protected, so you can't get a discount and they are never on sale anywhere.
I would not recomend that anyone get anything installed at any Best Buy. They hire kids that don't even know how to use a screwdriver!
While I was there I saw (from other install bays in the state) cars that caught fire due to remote starters installed wrong, screws through hoods, screws through roofs (that were covered up with butyl!), batteries fried, interior trim pieces destroyed, rats nest wiring, etc.
The most memorable car that I had to fix was a lime green 87 Grand Am with shaved door handles and a white rag top. His remote start was installed by another BB a few years prior and all of a sudden everything stopped working (door poppers, sunroof, power windows, trunk pop, remote start, alarm). Whoever installed it just shoved a mess of wires under the dash and left it shorting everything out. I had to remove the remote start (everything was attached to it)and rewire everything from the firewall back to the trunk. It was insane! It took me a week to get everything straightened out (40 work hours) and the kid didn't pay a dime for anything because BB warrenties its labor and products!
Appreciate it guys. Just goes to show you, we are not guaranteed a tomorrow. Unfortunately, it takes something like that to realize it. Anyway, Liquid, post your Q again, I'll help you out. Zero, that may be true at some places, again ours is not like that. Our install guy has worked at BB the longest of any employee, at 8 years, he is damn good. Generally though, if I didn't know how to install car audio myself, I would get it done at a car audio shop, rather than a Box, CC and BB.

I wasn't saying that all of the stores installers sucked but the majority of them do. Our store actually had a shop mgr who was a fanatic about installing and he would except nothing but the best from us as installers. Those type of installers are few and far between at the big box stores....
DD... what is that sony shit you are talking about..... PPLLLLLEEEEEASE.. i'd rather be deaf than listen to a Sony amp, let alone sony SPEAKERS... even for someone on a budget there is MUCH better out there.

i can't give an honest answer right now...... i havent looked at what's in the A/ market in stores in the past year..... but i do know you can always find something at a comprable price or even cheaper that is better than Sony... Sony does some great stuff.. but STAY AWAY from the audio... i'm telling you.
even Onkyo makes some cheap HTIB.
you can buy basic speakers sets from JBL, Infiniti and a million other manf, that are way better than Sony audio... the only "good" Sony audio is the Sony ES line.. is okkk... but there is still better cheaper than that.
Sony audio = rip off.
sorry but true. you can listen to me or not, i don't care.. but it's throwing money away.

Sony is also the ignorant fooks that started the goddamn 100 x 5 watts receivers for $199... and screwed everything up and further confused the already confused consumer.
hahaah.. they would test those "100x5" amps... and they would come out to be like 24 x 5 PAST .07 THD.... just rediculous that they market stuff so poorly.....
