bahaha!! when i got my new LCD tv a couple weeks ago, i was there for like an hour in the tv section and no one approached me to see if i needed help. i had to go find someone. then when i got someone he didnt seem to really give a shit about helping me out. you think they would be nice since i nearly spent $3K there that day.
Holy shit, my day off from work, and one class, I go get ated, and everyone gets their panties in a wad waiting for me to return. God, I miss this forum!
HDMI- get the cheapest possible, Dynex for us, 49.95 for 3ft
Customer Service- we are trained to keep the customer in mind first. In HT especially, we are busy as hell. Since we are non-commission, we treat each customer the same, though 80% are "just looking"
Too ated- to remember the rest

what do you guys expect??
honestly... its the customers' fault (just hear me out)
i used to be a manager at Circuit City years ago.... back when i started there (end of 90's) it was a good place... salespeople actually had to wear jackets. we were trained well, sales were a serious matter. some people averaged over $40/hr on commission.
those were the good days.
then come the days with internet, consumer reports, etc, etc.
eventually most people did the research themselves... either that, or they simply wanted the cheapest price, that was all.
there came a time when the consumer no longer wanted the "knowledgable salesperson".... the "smart guy with the jacket".. was now ringing up whatever the customer wanted... and now wearing a polo.
even that went south.... when all said and done (current time), BB or CC won't pay a normal "sales associate" more than $9/ hr.
it's the way the market has made it....
people make decisions on their own and generally do not want to be bothered.
sucks for the people that actually need good help and are willing to spend good money, doesn't it.
