^^^Like I said, Anti-depressants are not all that prevalent among these mass shooters. Although a good chunk of them were on it, and I'll believe that, what actually makes a person snap in the U.S. to decide to go on his own personal jihad?
I think it's primarily cultural differences. Look at the Japanese, not a whole lot of violence, but their suicide rates are higher than ours.

Where the only way for the weak or the unmatched to succeed is to go out in a blaze of glory like the cowboys in the "Wild Bunch"?
Is there a difference? Why is it that mostly men do this?
I'm a gun owner, and I believe in the right to bear arms, so I'm just having a philosophical discussion here, but is there any difference between terrorists who take out innocent civilians in a bus or a market, and American kids and young adults who go on a shooting spree and then commit suicide?
Sadly, I don't think there is.
I don't see the difference between a terrorist and the nutcases who go on murder suicide rampages.
I see them as weak minded individuals who are extremely susceptible to propoganda. Keep in mind that a lot of information they get are from state sponsored programs, just like the Nazi's in WWII were feeding bs (and to an extent the US as well) to their citizens.

........Lemme ask you Phelan? Do you sleep with your gun loaded in your bedroom?
I used to. Long time ago. But I used to live in a shitty neighborhood back then. Now I won't do it. Speed loader is loaded, but separate from my revolver. The odds are that most of us, especially if you are White, won't get broken into by some crazy lunatic.................
I personally do not keep my stuff in my bedroom. I thought about getting a quick access safe for my bedroom, but don't know if I'll actually go that way.
I do keep my Sig loaded and chambered, but it's in my safe. Figure if I get held up, then that's were I'm getting forced to go anyway, plus house is set up so that I probably couldn't run away anyway.
As far as neighborhoods go, I guess Hawaii is not like your guys area of the country. Down here the crooks are coming for my neighborhood. Inside of me moving, I've already been robbed once. My aunt (whose house I'm in now) was robbed at least twice, so the area is definitely a target zone.
Since then I've gotten a burglar alarm installed and it's on in one way or another 24 hours a day. Except when my mom visits and she messes the damn thing up.

I'd like to mount a M2 (Ma Duece) on my front stoop. Forget the pee shooters. I'd like to see someone try to break into my house. I wish I could pick one up at the flea market. Anyone know of a good place? I mean, if I'm gonna break the nazi CA gun law I might as well do it in style.
Go to Knob Creek, you will find anything you want to see there.

^^^I could perhaps be the definition of gun crazy. Owning a lot of guns, with stacks of ammo ready to reach for his gat and the drop of a hat. That's gun crazy. Like that dude in the movie Tremors.
Although I'm trying to change because I feel it is not necessary.
Son, do you really have more stuff than me?

Neither do I, but I do worry about the increasing use of drugs designed to alter the state of one's mind when so little hard fact is known on how the brain and nervous system functions. Just a few years ago it was still thought nerve tissue didn't regrow, but new studies shows that it does depending upon the severity of the injury.
Point taken. I guess if we cannot trust people to follow simple directions (such as use all this antibiotic to kill your infection, to which people don't and help create more drug resistant strains), then it's even more difficult if it's adjusting their state of mind.

You're starting to sound like the gun hating media who talk about 500 rounds of 9mm as if it's something to be shocked over. 500 rounds is maybe 2 range trips.
I usually spend an hour at the range tops. Any more than that, and I'm just throwing money away. Ammo, especially 00 buckshot and good .45 cost a lot.
Seriously, there's no need to have more than 1,000 rounds in store for each pistol caliber. Of course, that's just me.

I don't have that much ammo, but what I have pretty much can be used in one of three types of guns (.223, .308, or .45). There is much to be said about consolidation of ammo.
BTW I cannot see why Neville would be running around with that AR of his. Why not bust into an armory and get some good stuff. Also who the hell runs around with only one magazine in a post apocalyptic world?

I was thinking the same thing. I would have had a bunch of of sawed off shotties in the apt for close quarter situations and I def would have thought to carry something a bit heavier while out (with more ammo).
The only thing I could think of was that after a little while of not having to shoot at anything he started carrying less rounds and smaller guns...Personally I would be armed to the teeth if I was in his shoes..
^^^Maybe it was locked and he didn't know how to weld.

Agreed. I got a lot of mouths to feed. Two .45 pistols (only one I really shoot), 1 .40 S&W, 1 .357magnum, 1 9mm, and one shotgun. That's a lot of mouths to feed. I need to reduce.
For the 9mm, I got between 800 and 900 rounds. For the .45, I got about 500 rounds. For the .40 and .357, I have less than 200 And for the 00 shotgun, I have about 100 of the quality shit. If I need more than 100 rounds of 00 buckshot, zombies are attacking us or I'm fighting CQB for some damn good reason!

he had years to practice how to weld..plus he had a pretty elaborate lab in his basement. Don't tell me he didn't weld one bit of it..how did he make that case/cage? He sure as hell didn't just silicone the ends of it together...
