I had seen the news on Warner and I also heard that there was some big HD DVD presentation at CES that had been cancelled (maybe because of the Warners announcement). Definitely looking more and more like Blu Ray will be the winner.
I bought the 80gig PS3 and I have a sealed copy of Motostorm if you would like to take it off of my hands at a reduced price.
Only game I have is call of duty and it simply looks amazing. Haven't really been into first person shooters but this one is definitely cool looking.
Honeslty I have spent a little more time playing PS2 games and watching movies to even think to much about PS3 games. GT5 will be a definite purchase though

you can also check out Need For Speed: Prostreet. Graphics are amazing and the ability to tune your cars is cool and more extensive than in recent years...it definitely rivals previous installments of Gran Turismo....no bullshit.

U can't forget the HD DVR because that is allowing me to watch older movies in HD. Seems like I am watching a different movie

I have to say, buying my new TV for my living room was one of the greatest things ever. I got a 65" 1080P Toshiba DLP, Dish Network HD, PS3 80 gig, and a toshiba HD-DVD + 1080p DVD upconversion. This TV is AMAZZZZZING... it has 3 HDMI inputs and it has its own digital audio output via optical. I have a 9 year old 5.1 reciever (was one of the best at the time) with super dope ass speakers (Now Hear This" towers+surrounds+sub) and it works with this system because of the optical out on the TV... such a good thing too cuz a hdmi passthrough 5.1 reciever with 3 hdmi in is really really expensive.

My only problem FUCKING REMOTES OMG I have remotes for everything since i havn't gotten a harmony remote yet lol, it takes up like a huge chunk of my coffee table just in remotes.

BTW PS3 is the shizzle, the online play is seemless with my wifi network at the house. I download demos/games and play online with friends. Also don't forget that PS3 supports BLUE TOOTH so you can use your phone headsets with your PS3 and talk shit to your friends.

The only downside to getting something like this.... as I've sadly found out is if you go over to somone else's house for a "get together" and people are like watching TV or a movie or playing 360 or whatever... you think to yourself GOD THAT LOOKS FUCKING TERRIBLE.... but you really can't say so because then you'd just be an asshole.

Oh yeah, and if you're gonna buy a super sick TV DON'T SKIMP ON SOUND!! The sound is suuuuuch an important part of the experience. With real digital surround sound it sounds like you're in the action and makes it so much more enjoyable.

I have the Harmony 880 and it definitely makes my life easier! It even controls my Outlaw receiver. Only problem is that it won't (easily) control the PS3 because that box uses bluetooth to communicate with its wireless accessories. There apparently is an IR remote you can buy on Amazon that uses a USB dongle as the transmitter, this device can then be used to "train" the Harmony...sounds like a lot of work but I may buy the remote anyway, controlling movies with the game controller sucks.

By the way, I love NHT's! I have four Superone's on the corners and a Supercenter and its an amazing set up for such small speakers.

^^ the worst for me... is when i go over someone elses house and they try to show off what they THINK is "surround sound"......
i first have to bite my lip.. then think of covering my ears but realize that would be just as rude.
