oh ok i see. the one i had was an inspiron 9400 (2006 model) silver with white edging. the new insprions are bright and shiny colors. maybe the latitudes are better, i dunno. i know 3 ppl that had the same inspiron as mine and all had issues. and inspirons are supposed to be their top of the line laptops, right?

they are dell, what do you expect?

The Latitude is their business model though - and seems to be working much better then the other one I had thus far. Granted, it has only been two days.

The Latitude series laptops are excellent. I have a D810 and a D430. Both are awesome with 0 issues. The Inspirons are shit, by comparison

mann they told me mine was 'top of the line'... i had an inspiron 9400 with the 17" widescreen etc. i paid like $1400 for it. in comparison, the Vaio i replaced it with cost about 2/3rd of that and is definitely superior so far.
