Today's youth is far too jaded for them to care IMO. I hear too many stories about kids getting autographs so they can sell them, the little pieces of shit.
As far as things not being illegal, it's unfortunately part of the game now. It's going to be hard/impossible for the league to ban substances with the designer drugs now. Add to this they need to get backing from the Players Association and I think this will probably never be stopped.
One thing that is not addressed with the public however is the usage of steroids to help players heal. That is a good application for the drugs and somehow MLB needs to sort that away before they can address this situation.
