Default potential BLIZZARD for north east late this weekend!

(Euro is a type of computer model)

New Euro and East Coast Storm Monday, December 10, 2007
POWERFUL STORM!
I just saw the 12z Euro and it continues to show the storm bombing out along the coast. if anything, the storm is even stronger on the new run....

GFS CATCHES THE 17TH STORM...MAJOR ICE STORM IN KANSAS...
I received an e-mail from someone in
Oklahoma City who said the ice storm the past 24 hours has been the worst in years. Tonight, the thunderstorms and heavy rains have moved into Kansas where a major ice storm is underway. I am certain folks across Kansas will have some major power outages overnight.

I put the GFS 18z run image below and showed the path of the snow area and where severe weather would occur if the GFS is correct. I am not surprised to see the GFS come inline with the Euro and JMA models. The question becomes, will it happen.. At least we have many days of excitement...
I did get my Kocin Northeast snow storm book out today and was looking at the relationship between the NAO and major storms,. When values go below -1, many of the great storms hit the east coast. Check out the recent NAO forecast, -2 by the 16th...Wow...! If all goes well, Kocin may have to add a new chapter to his book...2007 blizzard...

The tail end of that will surely produce tornadoes in FL - whenever they're that strong, they usually do. Wow, all this AND subtropical storm Olga will make for an interesting weekend!

I wiah it would cool off Florida some. It's still 82 degrees outside and we have to keep the AC running. It doesn't feel like Christmas at all.

I looked at accuweather.com and it says I am only getting an inch but that map you posted says I should be getting at least 3"...I am supposed to work all day and night and I would rather not...I would not have to if it is expected to snow a whole lot..

right now, Accuweather.com is only showing snow totals for saturday's snow... which is a small event.... this map is looking mostly at Sunday and Monday's "main" event. it is also very unofficial ... the senior meteorologist made it up real quick bc he is very excited about the storm and poeple keep asking him for snow totals. the map WILL change... but depends where you live as to how.
