my cousin has had nothing but pitbulls for the past 10 years, he had a female a few years ago that passed away from parvo, but anyway, she looked completely different from your dog.
well.. it may just be the angle of the shot.
yah well it's kind of hard to tell just by the head. i mean there is a typical pit face, but i have seen so many different looking dogs. a lot of it has to do with the breeding. a friend of mine got a pup from a typical looking pit mom/dad and it had a really long snout. looked even less like a pit than mine...
the easiest way to tell is by the body and the short tapered tail.
i agree, but it's sometimes easier said than done.
Well you may have some issues with a really dominant dog, but again you catch them as pups and with the right training it shouldn't be an issue.
With my uncle's dog, I played with him as a puppy. After the dog grew up and got used to hunting pigs, I didn't mess with him. My uncle had said it got in a fight with another dog and ripped the other dog's tail off.
Then when I was working on Maui one of the guys got a female pit that was being trained for fighting, but she was a really mellow dog......probably why the previous owner wanted to get rid of her. Thank god the guy wasn't a Vick and just killed her.

a female trained as a fighting dog? wow, that's news to me.
that chihuahua looks like its scared poopless in the first pic
haha! if bred right though, the pit bull is not very tempermental at all and is very forgiving... bentley used to bite onto her lip and have her drag him around the house...

so did it look more like an american bulldog? but yeah you're right about the body, in fact, that's how i was able to tell your dog was a pitbull.
eh not really. it has more to do with the dog being trained to fight and wanting to fight to please it's master. males are bigger and in most cases stronger, but females are quicker and more nimble. it all comes down to endurance in the end though."

im not too sure what it looked like. to be honest, it was an ugly dog. i think it was a bad breed... the body was absolutely ripped... small dog but HUGE you know what i mean... and the head looked funny. he had a horrible temperment and my friend had to give him away when he had a baby.
