Robbery suspect charged with murder - Yahoo! News
3 black guys break in to a white family's home. They beat the son so bad he has brain damage and can't feed himself. The father comes and shoots and kills 2 of the assailants and the 3rd escapes. Now the 3rd guy is being charged with murder for the 2 deaths of his friends. Some people are defending this ass hole saying charging him is racist. Honestly, he's a career criminal and should be off the streets. Who cares if he ends up in prison for the rest of his life. I think it's just justice, not racist. What do you think?

that may be slightly excessive, but the owner had a right to protect himself, his family and his property. yes the kids were shot in the back, but after they beat the living hell out of his son.

maybe they could get him for involuntary manslaughter.

NAACP has a weak case to call it racism when the owner's son is now a vegetable.

Sad, but I think that the owner of home had every right to defend his property and the safety of his family. When you're in this type of situation, which most of us aren't trained to handle, you don't think about how much force to use or if an action will get you prosecuted. You just react to guard your own safety and to repell the traspassers.

Too bad the he didn't have an auto shotty near by. Loaded.

Self defense laws near universally do not apply to cases where the perpetrator is fleeing. So really the homeowner is lucky to not be facing charges, especially given how screwball California's legal (just can't bring myself to call it justice) system is.

Guy did something like that around here, but it was a sawed off shotgun on a tripwire. Dumbass tripped it himself, and got a chauffeured ride to the hospital; also got charged with illegally setting up a booby trap.

I agree with the NAACP in this case as far as the charges being too excessive. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind the usage of the little used law, but unless it's equally applied over the entire cases, then yes if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

I would think the Prosecutor should charge the one living burglar with breaking and entering, assault with a deadly weapon, and attempted murder for the bat beating.

i would like to hear more details.

if the one that lived was found to be the 'ring leader' or mastermind of the robbery, he would be charged with the other murders. if they all did it completely on their own will, he shouldn't be charged with the murders.

either way he's f*cked at this point...

ok just read the story, looks like prosecutors are in fact saying the living guy arranged it. tough break on that, but that is the law.

and wow, the NAACP never ceases to amaze me...

the guys break into this man's house and just about kill his kid (to the point he can no longer feed himself)... and they don't think he had a right to shoot?
and just bc they were shot in the back does not mean they were leaving the house, they could have just as easily been beating the kid at the time and the dad came up from behind.

i carry a small bow and arrow with me at all times for protection. the arrows are about the size of a common dart.
