Entry Level Bedroom Home Theater System

The receiver is 399.00 but I'll get maybe 100 off. The sub might be 350.00 I don't remember as price wasn't the big thing on my mind at the time. The center and others are not going to be much more than 250.00 for now. If I don't like them I'll throw them in the computer room and grab 4 more or return them. I think I'm going to like 5 speakers powered by that receiver. There is some good stuff out there for this price range.

I guess I am not hearing anything really scary about this config so far...

no nothing scary so far... but you havent picked speakers.... id' say you are on the right track for an "entry-level bedroom system"

as long as you don't go GZ's HTIB route...

Hell go with Mike's stuff, you need a $10k bedroom system. If you put four 20" subs under your bed you can turn it into one of those motel quarter beds.........but better..........

XBOX 360 is a great gaming system. Tough call for some but this is an easy call for me as I am not invested in Halo 3 or anything much beyond Castlevania and Ms. Pacman and Tetris plus I have a lot of friends who have the all important XBOX 360. The PS3 is for the blue ray player and the love of a guy who would like to play some video games with me and maybe even convert a few of his old PS2 Games. Having put so many systems together in cars I believe the idea is fun and experiment and play and each baby is its own entity.

Scared to touch that sh*tty system in the G. As much as I thought about it I never even imagined what I could or would do with that trunk. I tweaked out the other day though and started to hate that center console bad.

i was thinking maybe the Lexicon RT-20



it's only about $3,500.. amybe you can find it for $3,000....

and for amplifiers... i was thinking of the Mark Levinson 33H monoblocks... only about $33,000 per pair. and they only weigh 200 lbs each.

Yea, I wouldn't mind spending 10K on a sound system next year or so - after I buy a house. I don't make a lot of money but I don't ever plan to have children so my money is spent on electronica and cars. The bf gotz no problem with who I am. It was the last one who had that problem...this one young and open to fun.
