haha!

i hate when places have really detailed, extremely colorful flashy logos...

they are so hard to reproduce on stickers, b/w print, clothing etc.

I like your idea of simplicity. The logo isn't bad overall but something has to change with the M. Not sure what though. I'm the least creative person.
