The BCS doesn't necessarily suck. What sucks is that Miami lost to Tennessee, giving them a tremendously strong lead over my school, the Florida Gators. What also sucks is that FSU lost to Clemson of all people. This caused them to fall back in the rankings so damn far that when we beat FSU at the end of the season it won't give us a huge jump in the BCS standings anymore. Many people don't understand quite how the BCS is ranked. I really don't think that it is THAT bad of a system. Yes, it is messed up that TCU is #6, but that is just the nature of the beast. I think that the biggest problem with the BCS is that strength of schedule doesn't play more of a factor.

Right now, our only true hope of going to the SEC Championship is to have Tennessee lose a game to either Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, or Kentucky. All of these teams combined have a total of 2 SEC Wins! Absolutely amazing! Also, combined for the entire season they only have 5 wins.
Tennessee needs to lose that way we can enter a tie breaker with Georgia (in which case we would win, because of our 16-13 win over UGAy). If both UF and Vols win out then we might not even enter a tie breaker with them (the two teams have to be within 5 places of each other to enter a tie breaker), and even if we did get within 5 places of Tennessee, we would lose the tiebreaker because of our loss to them.
Damnit! [bigmouth]
Sorry, just had to vent! Those of you who follow college football would know that the Gators have 3 losses, two of which, Miami and Ole Miss, we should have one if not for our horrible 4th Quarter playing. It just makes me really mad that we have knocked off No. 6 LSU, No. 11 Arkansas, and No.4 Georgia and lead the SEC East, yet we are only 15th in the BCS right now![!]
Well first off I agree rlipps, the BCS does have some flaws. I would like to see the top 10 teams enter a tournament style bracket or something...rather than all this conference crap that goes on. But who's to say that will work and be fair either. Who knows??? [dunno]
I too love college football. I myself graduated from Univ. of Texas, the Longhorns. We are 5th in BCS and have a shot if a few teams lose to play OU again for the title. We will see how that pans out.
Now on to the crappy...oh sorry I mean the Florida schools. hehe I am not a fan of ANY of the Florida schools. They are always usually overrated like Miami was this year and FSU as well. I don't hate Florida nearly as much as FSU. I don't mind Miami. You mention the wins for Florida, but don't mention their 3 losses...of which one team was not even ranked top 25. That is what killed you guys. I think Florida has a good team but you have to consider all factors. We lost to Arkansas, early in season...should not of happened, and OU the eventual national champions! []

I am just disgruntled because we have proved that we are better than the current #4 LSU and #9 UGAy. Also, what in the world is TCU doing at #6 [banghead]. My whole argument was that there are teams ahead of us in the rankings, that we have/can beat and have weaker strength of schedules.[boxing]
TCU is undefeated but I mean come on. Their strength of schedule is ranked 87th in the nation out of 117 teams. They are in one of the weakest conferences in the nation, Conference USA. They also have had 4 games decided by 3 points or less...barely squeaking by a few of them in the last minutes. I agree with you rlipps, TCU does not deserve to be ranked at #6th on the BCS. Not too sure Florida deserves to be higher in the rankings like you say though...hehe []

Well since that is coming from a "Hook 'em Horns" fan, I am left with only one thing to say:
Nope, now relieve me of the suspense! I am a first year student, so I don't know everything... yet.

Ahh ok well earlier this year I believe the Univ. of Florida athletic dept. printed out their 2003 football media guides with a CROCODILE on the front of it instead of an alligator!!! hahah them Gators are so smart...hehe! []

Haha, well I knew that it was a Croc in the picture, I just did not realize that that picture was an actual magazine cover. It all makes sense now. I thought it was just a silly photoshop.
