Just got a PM from this guy asking about a set of tires I sold ages ago. Mind you I just got this within the last few days.
Hello
I am interested in buying the Dunlop Sport Maxx tires 1 set that you have placed for sell now, and I would want to enquire about the present condition of the above mentioned, as well as some detail about you. I expect this timely enough.
As for the payment, I would need you to get back in touch with the last asking price as I will be paying with a certified cheque.
Lastly, please forward to me your full company's (or house address, telephone and fax) details as I will subsequently prefer reaching you through these facilities.
Yours interestingly,
Raymond Griffiths
Should you need to reply to me, Please get back in touch with your details to me at:mx_0003@yahoo.com for a quick reply.
Well guys have fun emailing this buffoon and send him all kinds of stupid messages about something that you're selling.

It's a new twist on an old scam. You get paid with a bogus certified check that is so good that it will clear initially and the money will be deposited into your account. But when the bank figures out that it is fake, they will take back the money and the thief will already have your account number an has likely wiped out your account electronically. You will also be hit with bad check fees and if you wrote checks based on that money, they may become bad checks and you may face criminal charges for writing bad checks, not to mention additional bounced check charges.
I know you realize this is a scam, but others may not.

also, it's not that it's such a good fake that makes it take weeks to bounce. a bad check is a bad check. inside the US, a bad check will be returned to your bank within a week. however an international check takes about 3 weeks to come back. so these guys in europe and africa are sending worthless checks and you don't know for almost a month, by that time it's too late. they also usually write the check for way over and tell you it is to cover the shipping, and ask you to send a check back to them for whatever is left over.

... if they would only devote their time doing something constructive!!
I had a guy pay me $100,000 for tires once. He wanted me to send the difference back to him but I kept it!
I still can't figure out why my checking account is off though...
