Their armored core of course doesn't match up with a superpower's, no one's does (except maybe Israel), but to write them off is a bit arrogant. Too much faith in high tech is an arrogance that gets US into trouble time and again.
This was a point I was trying to make with Irish way back when. She being in the AF and in intelligence put a lot of stock in high tech. Unless you are bombing someone off the face of the earth sooner or later you need to send in a grunt to clear the towns on the ground, no high tech is going to help you when it degenerates into a house to house deal.
I'll give you that their tanks were no match for ours, but the huge number of tanks is no laughing matter. I don't laugh at the idea of 3 billion Chinese people with one round apiece.
