You didn't know it was tap? I think it was ABC a few years back did an 'expose' of the bottled water industry because one high dollar brand that claimed to be bottled from a super pure remote mountain stream turned out to be municipal water. Rarely do I buy bottled water because it tastes better than tap, usually its a convenience thing.

i didn't know it was tap water, but i suspected it was purified water, not some fancy shmancy spring water. i like Aquafina because of the taste, it tastes better than Arrowhead. I can tolerate Dasani. I like tap water, and think it's safe, but I don't like the taste of my own tap water.

If you guys think bottled water is bad (i.e. dirty), do you guys have any idea how dirty ice cubes are at most restaurants/bars/clubs/etc.? Read this article that said that most ice cubes from rest/bars/clubs/etc. is worse than water in the toilet. Makes you think doesn't it?

^^^Ever see them wash glasses at a bar? They grab some used glasses, dunk them in some soap, then dunk them in some anti-bacteria killer, and then hang them to dry. That's it. 3 seconds tops!

Yep I know this routine. Since they don't scrub you always get the residue from some chic's lipstick. Nasty! I think bars are the place people always get the flu and colds during the winter seasons.

Also, I think you're being too generous with 3 seconds. It's more like half a second.

10% bleach solution for 60 seconds and while crap may still be there it'll be germ free!

When I go to a new place drinking I'll get a coke or water first (most places here serve those in disposable cups to distinguish the drinkers from the DD) and try to scope out the area behind the bar. The places I'll return to tend to have dishwashers that the staff actively uses to wash the glassware.

it is less than that. I have worked in a bar my whole adult life and I will not order anything unless it is bottled beer or out of a plastic cup...

Don't be fooled. Many of the well established, popular places usually come out dead last in inspections. Just because the inside area where people eat/drink/etc. looks clean doesn't mean that the stuff they serve is. I remember watching this investigative show that did some investigating and found an alarming mid to high-end places to be the worst when it comes to being sanitary.

Yep, might as well eat at home and become a hermit like GZ.

I am far from the cleanliness only thing. As a warthog I fully support rolling in the mudhole, then covering up with a nice protective layer of dirt to keep the flies off and protect from sunburn.

IMHO this whole no germs thing is just stupid. I say live like a cockroach. They've been around and are the specimen of the adaptive organism.
