I normally race in A Class, so I have a G35 with Performance index 850.
The problem is the "lower end" cars have way too much power once you fully mod them and they handle like ass 'cause the suspension, tire, wheel, brake, and aero mods aren't enough of a balance against all of the engine and drivetrain stuff. The solution to that is to get your ass in an R1 car and push that bad boy around the track. They stick like glue if you set up them up right, and they're MUCH easier to keep on the track.

I like to be unique and have my own cars. I dont want to race using race cars tuned and designed by someone else. I want to use everyday cars tuned by myself. I want my own original creation to beat others.

you can tune the race cars as well. most of the specs on the car can be adjusted just like they can on the street cars. regardless, you can tune one of those street things all you want, and even make it have a much higher top speed than one of those race cars, but it will undoubtedly handle like shit. speed means nothing if you can't control it.

Like I said, I'd rather build my own crappy car than start with a car that was already meant to dominate the track.
