Thats not unusual. Unless you hit a vital organ or the brain most people don't go down on the first shot. Especially if adrenaline or drugs are pumping through the system, they'll be up till shock sets in.

Depends on the ammo and the gun But this idiot got shot like 10-16 times and didn't even flinch. He just dropped and the way he was acting isn't normal. If he really wanted to battle it out he wouldn't have turned his back like that and he would have definately shot more than 1 time, so it just indicates that he might have been on drugs or crazy.

Question: Why did the cop go for the back and not the head? It seems the head would be an immediate take down, whereas the dude had almost 2 seconds to respond being shot in the back. Is it an accuracy issue, or training of some kind? He was like 5 feet away...

aside from sharp shooters, i don't think they ever aim for the head. pretty sure they are trained to aim for the chest.

8 shots, 6 from the cop on the right and 2 from the cop on the left.

You shoot for center of torso (center of mass is usually a little under your belly button). It's too easy to miss a head shot unless that's the only thing you can see.

Given different situations, even snipers/sharp shooters will aim for center of torso.

Actually GZ, when the term "center mass" is used it basically means body mass exclusive of extremities. So the term "center mass" in terms of marksmanship means the small area of the sternum, which is above the belly button.

Also, head shots are something that only snipers care about. Just imagine being in a fire fight and trying to aim for the head. Why would you do attempt to aim for a smaller target in that chaos than the larger one of the torso? In battle you can be right or you can be dead trying to look good.

I know what shooters mean by center of mass, but they are wrong. In their lingo center of mass means center torso. Sorry the engineer in me rebels against the shooter definition of center of mass.

+1 on shooting what you can shoot. Only go for the head if you have no alternative.

It's not really too hard inside of 200 yards.............but if the guy so much as sneezes you are going to miss.

Point taken. I guess it's the difference between the literal difinition with the technical one.

Yeah, earlier tonight at the range I shot out the mouth area of a silhouette at 7yd with my XD. Not impossible, but not as easy as shooting out the gut.

For pure discussion, what if he was a gangsta like 50 cent and wore body armor, as well was on PCP? Shooting in the gut would take him down, but would it give him more time to react?

After watching this video I can understand why they shot him. What I don't get is why they were actively engaging the suspect if they thought he had a gun or weapon? You would think that they would run for cover and take the suspect out from a safer location like behind their cruiser. Plus 8 shots is far too many, 2-3 shots then re-evaluate the situation just like the one officer did. The only officer who should've fired was the the 2nd guy to the left when he seemed to have pointed his gun at him. Granted this guy was a moron but it's not like he fired at them, the officer on the right was waiting for the opportunity to to shoot this guy and he gave it to him. Sorry Rodney King did not deserve to get his a$$ beat any more than that truck driver who got his face smashed in by a brick. Totally senseless!
