Get good enough at it and you can make those gun illiterate think you're firing full auto (more so with rifles than pistols). A lot of commercial ranges don't allow it because they feel it's dangerous...but really there's no more likelihood of ricochet than with a single shot fired.

What ever happened to only as much force as is needed??
The guy pointed his gun at the officer on three separate occasions before they fired. First in front of car#2 on the right side, once in front of car# 2 on the left side, and third when he was walking away.

You do not know the intent of the individual, but what matters is this. If someone points a gun at you, you must assume that he intends to use it. Even if he doesn't, in the stress of the situation, it's easy for someone to pull the trigger.

You saw how many shots it took to get the guy down? Just imagine if the officer stopped after shot# 1 or #2 and the guy turned around (as he had on three separate occasions) and shot him and his partners in the face.

^^^I don't know what led up to the chase. It could have been an armed robbery or some other report that the suspect was armed.

For certain the guy failed to comply with the officers. He also came out of the car after running a stop light and pointing very much as someone would if he was carrying a gun. I don't see too many guys using a weaver stance for their cell phones........

I don't think you guys really get what's important here.

The dude working in the "quicky-mart" got his ass shot up. He probably ain't squeezing the juice anymore.

Looks like a cell phone to me, but you shouldn't hold a cell phone like a gun. You shouldn't throw a pear like a grenade as well.

If you pull the pin out of the pear before you throw it, I am shooting you.

what do you think would happen if in that exact situation, a civilian saw what was going on, pulled his own weapon and got in the mix and emptied his own 15 round mag into that dude.

Would he/she be hailed as a hero or jailed or some crime?

Or better yet some civilian in a car saw what was going on and decided to pull the pin on a nade and throw it in the middle of the cops and that dude trying to be a good citizen.

That guy really deserved it. He might have been on drugs also because the cop on the right looks like he almost emptied his clip before the dude dropped. It was justified in killing that idiot. I'm glad he's gone.

who cares? i am so sick of cops not getting any credit for what they do. we sit here and scrutinize their every move. some guy leads them on a chase then gets out and points something that looks like a gun and you're going to blame them for shooting? do you want to do their job, because i sure don't!!
everyone sure does hate cops until something goes wrong and they have to dial 911, and guess who shows up to help??
