Default Zooms........04/24/07

Hey man, I have a watch question for you. Have you heard of a "Noblia" watch? I thought it was made by Citizen, but marketed under a the name Noblia?

Movement, quality, etc....?

who cares about all that shit man. what matters in the watch is the NAME... if people dont know the name then the watch is WORTHLESS... if they know it (even if you do not) then it's a great watch... even if it dont even work

GZ, I'm not personally familiar with Noblia, but I did ask my fellow watch enthusiasts and a few did know of it. It's not a widely known watch brand and I think you're correct that Citizen is it's parent company. Meaning that it probably uses a "solid" movement. Most likely quartz or maybe some sort of auto movement. Noblia was supposed to be the "high-end" line sold by Citizen and it seems they had their hey-day a few decades ago. Normally, Citizen watches aren't widely known as "high-end" watches but from personal expereince they do make some "solid" watches. I had a few Eco series dive watches that I seriously brutalized during my military career and they just kept ticking. When I got hit by that IED in Sudan I was actually wearing my Eco Drive Citizen diver and although the crystal was shattered the watch kept right on going and it kept good time to boot. So that should give you an idea about their quality/reliability. Now Citizen's aren't COSC certified so if you're looking for utmost accuracy I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

So... you looking to buy one of these? Now that you got me started... I've been thinning out my heard and have sold a number of my collection off, but I do have a spank'n new Omega Planet Ocean (45mm) diver I'm picking up as soon as my local authorized dealer (AD) get's it in.

Well I wouldn't say that Citizens are bad time pieces. I personally don't care for them much, but they still do produce some nice watches.

I've said this before, but auto watches these days are way overpriced. If you want I can suggest a few that are "top-notch" quality but very affordable. So you in the market for one GZ? Come on, come to the dark side...

^^^Away evil one, my Tag is enough for me. Unless there is pending legislation to ban watches, I must channel my funds to my gun habit.

Good call. Stick to one vice at a time. It easier on life that way.
