Unhappy Virginia Tech tragedy

Just horrific. What is up with some people? Even in your own worst moments, how can you conclude that your highest aspiration in life is to kill a couple dozen innocent people one-by-one on your way out? Man, what did these good people ever do to you? Just stick it in own mouth and leave the world without inflicting any more heartbreak than even that cowardly act generates. How long for increased cries of sealed borders and gun control will this tragic incident create?

It's all over the news. Shooting at Virginia Tech.

At least 22 dead in Va. Tech shooting - Crime & Punishment - MSNBC.com

Time will tell why this nut job did what he did. It's a shame that others paid for his issues.

As fucked up as this situation is, the media is sensationalizing it in a way to play into the agenda of gun control advocates. Characterizing the guy as "heavily armed" when so far only 2 9mms have been found.

Disarm the populace and stick them in enclosed locations, like shooting fish in a barrel.

So from what I am reading, he started shooting at the dorms. Then 2 hours later he starts shooting at a different location?? Is this correct??

Yeah Hexx, killed 1 in the dorms, campus locked down, then he walks to the engineering class 2 hrs later and chains the doors shut before shooting everybody in sight over there.

And, surprise, no assault rifles this time. But (2) Glock 9's and a fanny pack full of clips are deadly as hell when you lock and chain the doors shut to prevent your victims escape. What a twisted P.O.S. to pull such a premeditated act. I haven't heard if the gunman was shot and killed by L.E.O. or popped his own low-life self. If he was locked inside a classroom killing indiscriminately, I bet he took the cowards way out. I also wonder how many shooter games they'll find on his computer or 360.

Wow, that is unbelievable. I'm shocked at the 2 hours in between shootings though. How did this guy manage to just walk away when the campus was in a panic and lockdown and 2 hours later finish off his cowardly act by killing more people at a different location? If the campus was on lockdown, how did that happen????

Hexx, how often in college did people walk by you w/o you even noticing? It probably wasn't hard at all for him to move around between some people not knowing anything was going on and others panicking.

I guess you are right Phelan. It's just kinda hard to grasp that this guy laid low for 2 hours before he started shooting again. Cops were already all over the place and his description had to have been out there. Also, why was there even a class in session when a gunman was still at large on campus from the first shooting?? Sorry but a lot of this is just not making sense to me. I understand that there was probably chaos but I have to think that a lot of lives could have been saved.

Tragic. Absolutely tragic. I don't even know what to say except that I extend my deepest sympathies to the victims of this senseless violence. I'm sure we'll know the facts much later on.

but even then, 31 dead and still counting . . . no one could anticipate this at all.

Yeah Hexx a lot of it doesn't make sense. Fox News had some students on earlier and they didn't know anything was going on, till they saw some cops walk by the window of their classroom.
