metallica became overrated when they sucked at what they did (load album and on)... Kirk's music isnt only inside the songs but in his solos. Lots of his solos do not get recorded because they just dont fit with the songs in a single album. but he does have some singles. Anyway, they're pretty hard to play from what i hear.
Recently he's more into wah-wah pedal which lots of guitar players (including santana) do not use, but he says it's "an exention of his personality"
