How do you guys cope with difficult times?
--------------
On saturday, I return to new york, and on sunday I have to drive my busted ass G to maine 350 miles away. In the 3 weeks I will be in maine I will have to write 2 six page papers, 3 four page papers, and finish about 4 short books. After that, I will have 3 final exams to finish. Every weekday I will have to attend (2)2 hour classes.
In the meantime, I need to replace my right rear spring (and spring seat) + reallign the vehicle (again) + argue with body shop (to pay for my damaged tints and interior/hupers=$$$$) + change my oil + reassemble my interior + search for spring compressor + machine inspect frame (visual inpection = OK).
I think for the meantime, I will try to finish 2 small papers before I leave/limp back to maine. I will also mount my all season/stock wheels and forget about the G during crunch week(s). I will try to hold off repair until I get back to NYC for winter break. I will avoid verbal interaction with the body shop manager and instead write letters directly to the boss. Hopefully I can just have the warranty repairs exported to my NYC body shop.

but this is my problem-----the plan sounds good, but...
all I think about while I study is fixing the G! All I want to do, is break out my random orbital and start polishing away! I want to jack up the G and fix that spring...I want to get things done! I dont want to argue with the jackass at the shop - I would rather just bring my G to my friends shop and send the bill to the other shop! So much less stress! All I do now is read the same sentence over and over and over again. a Cup of coffee or a cigarette will get me past a only chapter or two--- everything is distracting me! Including 6mt.net!
------------
what do you guys do to cope with stress/anxiety and focus?!

That all depends on the situation and circumstances.
I'll start with this saying...
Don't worry about the things that are out of your hands and concentrate on the ones that are. Basically, worrying about something you can't change won't help you any one bit. So put those out of your mind, even though it's difficult, and get to work.
Next do a little braim mapping. Write out your mission objective. Once you have that concrete, write that in big letters at the top of your page. When you have a your objective in mind jot down steps you will need to take to accomplish that objective. Next, prioritize EVERYTHING. Leave out junk that doesn't aid you in getting your mission accomplished. After all this is done, create a "reasonable" schedule for you to follow. Then all there is to do is to use discipline and EXECUTE your plan. I know, it all sounds much easier than it is to follow, but it can be done. Make sure you keep that attitude along the way.
Also, make sure you do the brain mapping portion and actually write everything I just suggested down on paper. You will see that it really helps to get your mind on paper. It also helps you to remember your objective and allows for adjustments along the way. Sounds like you have some work ahead of you Neal, but I'm sure you'll get it done. Good luck.
Oh by the way, I hate to say this but you'd better get used to that type of schedule because that's usually how a real career is. After all that is finished you can celebrate with a nice cold drink. Happy Thanksgiving!

thanks zoom zoom. I will try my best to cooperate and adjust. I will go ahead and write everything down on a piece of paper. I guess I will also need to buy a schedual and calendar.
I need to focus! get my life in order!

I just don't seem to get stressed. Irritated and annoyed at coworkers yup but not really stressed. Might try guns, I find it a good way to deal with work related aggrevation; even better since it seems to make my supervisor uneasy.
Only if that were true. When you walk in the door at your first 6 figure job, they'll want to see your trascripts first. Trust me on this. You'll kick yourself in the head for the rest of your life if you blew it because all you had was C's.

Hopefully by the time you reach six figures, you have more to show than a college transcript, but I could be wrong. O yeah, and for god sakes Neft, I hope you are not going to drink and drive. You meant you take care of stress my driving right?
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Works for me!
you can pray to your "higher power" whatever that may be....you'll be fine, when I was your age I was going to school full time, working full time, and raising a baby! I am now a grandpa and we are flush! Just take a few deep breaths and live for the moment! And remember: one step at a time, one day at a time!
And bascically what zoom said is the best, and sort of what I am saying here.
