In my experience, and I've been making 6 figures for awhile and I hire 6 figure people ... I know for sure no one has ever looked at my transcripts. I've had up to 120 reports, and I've never checked anyone else's either (oh, and I'm a "knowledge worker"). HR confirms they went to whatever school they say, I don't know anyone that looks at anything else.

I tend to look at someone's work accomplishments, skill, and the ability to lead teams. Most school work is irrelevant to the real workplace. The magna cum laude that can't relate to co-workers is worthless in the real world. (I've only met one person that put that on their resume ...)

On the stress issue - I'm not a big believer in jumping in head first. Look at each project and decide what happens if you fail, or don't complete it. That creates backup plans, the backup plans create a comfort zone ... they also help you prioritize.

It could go either way really. The EE program I was in, when you got your job out of college, your pay was based on grades. A lot of my friends degrees are basically for show and to say they finished school, the actual grades were irrelevant.

Cool stress management

I graduated suma cum laude and went right into an exec position making well, nearly six figures (I was 22), worked 23 years and retired with a nearly- million dollar parachute. It does make a difference what grades you get in college and what college you went to (UCLA). I am sooooo glad I completed college and did well at it, but I busted ass doing it. Besides school, I was working full-time and raising a kid! Now I am a grandpa (had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family in Palm Springs), and working hard at not working. We leave for Maui December 2. We have a nice condo in Makena. I am in good health, and I feel I earned what I have....now if I could only nail that serenity shit! LOL! I think my next step will be back to school for my MBA. Maybe even a Ph.d! Who knows? I could get hit by a bus tomorrow (or today). Live for the moment. The past is gone, the future is unknown so live for today: that's why it's called a "present".

+1^^ How about this. Make good grades Neal, it will make you feel better anyway to get an A rather than a C. Just stay away from 6mt, this place will hurt your grades, I know I come here to waste some time when I could be writing a paper. Hope everyone is back home and safe from the holidays! Hooray Monday!...
