Don't ever get the idea that just because a watch is not expensive it is not a quality watch. Seiko makes some of the best watches in the world and have been doing so longer than Rolex. It's just that Seiko doesn't market their higher lines in foreign markets. You'd be amazed to see a $20K + Seiko, but they're around. It's only since this year that Seiko is beginning to market their more higher lines in the US and European markets.
I actually like all sorts of watches, no matter what they cost. I tend to like them for their design and choice of movements and special features. It's just that the more special features tend to have the more they cost, but that doesn't mean that watches that cost less are inferior per say.
I'd still like to see what you guys sport. As I said previously, I just like watches in general and all sorts and types.

If I recall correctly, Fossil was bought by Sector. I think that's right. In either case Sector, and now Fossil, do make some descent watches. There is this one dive watch I've looked at that I liked. I forget the model/name but it was pretty good and used a rather good movement for the price point.

Superdude I had a Fossil watch once . . . I vowed never to have one again. I think they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye but hands down the worst piece of shit I ever wore around my wrist.
Maybe it was just that one piece.
I've got a Seiko, a Citizen, a Swiss Army, a Gucci, and a Kenneth Cole (gift from my Uncle, nice looking but I wear it leisurely). I'll post some pics if I ever remember to take a photo of them
^^^ Since I can't own any "real" weapons I make do with collecting watches.
gamma, Swiss Army or Victorinox makes some good watches as well and recently took things to another level by offering watches that cost $2K. Something the company has never done before, but from the pieces I've seen and personally handled a few are very nice.
By the way, most fashion watches are just that fashion. Some though, a very few, back it up with the internals to match. Quartz is another story all together, but whenever you buy an automatic make sure you find out what type of movement it's got inside. If they use Stellia or ETA Swiss movements then I'd say you'll have no problems with reliability and keeping time. The thing is most fashion watches don't use these types of movements and usually are cheap Chinese made movements which I wouldn't wear if someone gave it to me. If at the least it should have a Myota Japanese movement, which tend to be reliable as well.

i love watches too, but i dont have as many as you do!!!!
1. omega seamaster automatic midsize (newest and favorite)
2. tag heuer link chrono (currently @ service)
3. swiss army (great camping watch)
4. kenith cole (got from work for 5 years of service)
those are about the only ones worth mentioning.
i have had my omega just over a year and i bought it because they are supposed to be extremely accurate. i have had to send it out 2x for service already. the first time they told me it was because of a faulty regulator and the second time they told me the movement was defective. i have had it back over a month now and its still on to the second. thank god for a good warranty!!!
I've actually been a huge fan of Omega's since I got into watches. Used to have over 7 Omega's in my previous collection, but that's another story. I've always felt that Omega's are in equal, if not even above, the status as Rolex in terms of reliability and craftmanship. For me Omega's always seem to be able to mix style, class with a bit of comtemporary fashion all in one. Rolex doesn't offer enough flash for the money in my opinion. I don't consider a bunch of gold and diamonds as flash IMHO, but rather bling. Also, Rolex seems to give off a bit too much of that "older" dude look compared to Omega. I've got my sights set on either a Co-axile Deville or a Planet Ocean next, but we'll see about that.
Post up pics of your watches. I'd love to see them.
No more watches... No more watches... No more watches...

It's still an automatic and will not be as accurate as a quartz.
I bought an automatic so I don't have to break open the case every couple of years and give the guys down here rights to my first born child. If it wasn't an issue to me, I'd have gone for a different movement.

Boc, the problems you speak of are really inconsistent with Omegas. I'd take it back to the AD (authorized dealer) you purchased it from and ask to have them open it up and do a check up. Or better yet, contact Omega and see what they will do for your under warranty. Omega's are some of the most accurate and reliable watches and their craftmanship and quality are well known. Some of the problems you listed are way out of line of what your Omega should be doing, so I'd definitely look into it. In terms of service, well all auto watches need checkups every 3 to 5 years and after having spent a chunk of money on it, I'd think you'd want it to be in good shap and running true.
Zoom, thanks for the detailed response. My watch is an automatic "chronometer" which I got for ~$1500. With its precision, i'm not sure exactly how off it is, but I remembe that at the end of the week it'd be 1-2min off at times. Even right after having it serviced. Next time I will probably send it out to Omega myself, and that time is coming soon. It's been about 3-5 years, but I don't want to have to spend that money every few years. I thought the Omega brand (at that price!) would be reliable and not need such maintenance (at ~$250+ a pop), but i guess just like with luxo cars, even they need service every once in a while.
I can't recall what the warranty is, but I think I remember reading up to 10sec/week allowable variation, so I'll need to check. i have banged it into things a few times, and think it's been behaving better recently
