we gave him a pork bone.....basically ribs, but with the tip.....he was gnawling on it and swallowed a pieced that was too big and it got stuck in his throat right above his esophagus. It was at 10pm so we took him to the ER.....the doc checked him out and said he was ok....at the hospital he was all active and stuff and seemed normal.....so when we took him back home, he start panting again and we knew something was wrong, so we took him back to the ER and requested a X-ray this time....and after the x-ray they found a bone lodge in his throat. The stupid vet could've costed his life if we didnt take him back.
So we left him there overnight so that they can perform an ocopography{(sp) some shit where they stick a scope down his throat to remove the bone}. Luckily they were able to remove it, or else they would've had to open him up to get it out of there. He's back at home now, restless and waiting for my fiancee to get home.
The bill could've easily gone up close to $10k if they had to operate and if there were some damages to his throat/esophagus. I seriously did not know what I've would've done if it was worst.
