I love the squealing I get from my rotors since I don't resurface when switching between the track pads and street pads
THX723 10-20-2006 01:25 PM
Poor Andy!
Ya need a track set of rotors.
superdds 10-20-2006 01:38 PM
^^^how about helping me do all my rotors and pads the next time you're up? i'll pay for airfare!
GZire 10-20-2006 01:40 PM
You need some tools too man. Your normal torture tools don't work on cars.
THX723 10-20-2006 01:41 PM
Sure. Let me know ... I'll have to remember to bring the tools, since you have NONE!
GZire 10-20-2006 01:45 PM
Hey maybe Leon-ardo can give you some tooth cleaning in exchange. He'll fix you up real good. Beware the gas!!!
superdds 10-20-2006 03:32 PM
you'd probably have to check them in huh...
THX723 10-20-2006 03:39 PM
... something about carrying on a 2-foot breaker bar thwarting the TSA.
Zoomzoomers 10-20-2006 04:05 PM
Hey Clint, does this mean that if I show up at your door on a Sat. with a case of beers and some chicken you'll do installs???
THX723 10-20-2006 04:08 PM
If they are New Castle then you're dead on! ... and you wouldn't be the first either.
Zoomzoomers 10-20-2006 04:12 PM
Ok you're on Clint. After I sold my house and moved into a condo I don't have a garage or any of my tools anymore. So I've been searching for a buddy I can take some beer over and do some wrench work. So what area do you live Clint? Now maybe I can get my sways and Kinetix V+ upper plenum to install.
Newcastle did you say??? Ah... A man after my own heart. I'll bring the case from Costco.
THX723 10-20-2006 04:15 PM
I'm in Phillips Ranch right in the area of Pomona/Diamond Bar/Chino Hills.
New Castle makes me happy. : )
Zoomzoomers 10-20-2006 04:18 PM
Nice! I used to live in Diamond Bar. You're on man! As soon as I get the parts together I'm showing up your door. With the Newcastles of course. While we're at it, you can just shoe horn your BBK onto my car.
THX723 10-20-2006 04:38 PM
You're shit'n me! You use to live in DB? Okay, so you should know this neck of the woods well then.
*ties my German Sheperd/Pitbull mutt to the BBK*
So, you're looking to do pad and rotors? What parts are you going with? btw, are you Brembo or no?
Zoomzoomers 10-20-2006 04:40 PM
Well I didn't get to the PR area too much but I do know the Diamond Bar, RH, HH and that general area pretty well. If anything I know the Brea area real well.
I'm thinking of getting the Kinetix V+ upper plenum, Stillen sways and maybe an HKS exhaust, but I reallly can't say for sure. I've had a reoccurrance of an old bad habbit. So I need to rein in my spending, especially with X-mas coming up.
superdds 10-20-2006 04:44 PM
^^^would this habit involve time pieces?
THX723 10-20-2006 04:46 PM
No worries. Philips Ranch is very tiny. You'd drive though it in less than 1 minute.
Wow, finally the modding begins with you! Why don't you go with the spacer instead of the Kinetix?
I too know Brea extremely well. I grew up in Placentia.
THX723 10-20-2006 04:49 PM ... I just realized we're not in the OFF TOPIC section and totally thread jacked B1GS. Sorry mate!
Zoom, we should take this else where out of respect, ya?
Zoomzoomers 10-20-2006 04:50 PM
Dunno for some reason I like the Kinetix V+ much better than the spacer, but maybe I'm wrong.
Zoomzoomers 10-20-2006 04:50 PM
Sure. You want to start the thread?
The Kinetix will get the job done as well. I'm not one to bash it obviously, since I have the Kinetix v4 and love it. It looks great w. the Z half-cover. I like the unique growly sound that no other plenums makes. It also makes an intersting off throttle hum during coasting - sorta reminds me of Darth Vader breathing ... really hard to describe.
I am however thinking of moving to the spacer with the iso thermal gasket and finishing off with a polished upper plenum piece. Only I'm too cheap to pay for the polished plenum, so I'm going to do it myself. That is going to take foreverrrrrrrrrr. So much labor there for the polishing that I haven't been able to talk myself into starting.
Yeah, she took the gag ball w. her to Japan. JK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No really, coincidently we hit an unexpected snag during our flight test. Things are at a relative idle (for me at least) as the mechs try to sort our the issues, so I get a lot of free time to roam the net. I'm kind of liking this! Hope it'll last.
