I always end up getting them all.. mainly cause each system will have its own kickass game..
I don't think $600 is ridiculous for a system.. you pay for the technology (Cell processor and Blu Ray).. I remember saving all my bday and christmas money when I was younger to buy genesis and all the addons with it.. I think Genesis with the 32x and SegaCD was $450..
Anyone remember NeoGeo? The games for that were over $100.. and that was early to mid 90s too..
ive seen graphics on the PS3 n they are definitely impressive a bit better than some 360 games, other than that n blue ray (which i know very little about) i dont see how its worth another 200 bucks_
ppl will get it jus cuz its the Newest thing out, the "flyest" n the most expensive, same case wit anything else_
Isnt that how is goes for all technology, of course ppl will go for the newest thing out, because a year later its already outdated. But the PS3, is defintly the most powerful professor out of the three, especially since they all come from IBM based chips. When the PS3 was first debuted, it was that the Nvidia RSX chipset was like putting two 6800s together, at the time costing 1000 dollars. But today, Nvidia's 7900 GTX is almost on par with the PS3 power. Goes to show u how fast the industry grows.
getting that and ps3. it's a bluray player too. that alone is worth $600 (at least it is for now).
the wii for it's sheer uniqueness.
xbox360.... eh not really a fan of those microsoft games like halo and project gotham
besides all the really good games should be out for all three systems!

I mean relatively speaking, 600 is the most expensive video game console to date, yes? So that alone is pretty high. But like u said, u get alot for what u pay for. But the thing u have to remember the most about Sony is that they usually talk about all the features possible, but most of the time, they are barely used. For instance, the HDD for the PS2, they really hyped it up, but barely any games supported it.
Blu ray is defintly impressive, but with this retarded format war between HD DVD and Blu ray goign on, we dont really know which format will win out. Sony has a decent list of formats that they themselves introduced that failed miserably. Blu ray format is obiviously an awesome tool, holding over 50GB of information, but cost of gettin something to play it is incredibly high, more so that when DVDs first appeared. I mean blu ray players are going for 1000+ and the Sony laptops that support blu ray are 3000+, just a lil too much right now. Im sure that the PS3 will push BLu ray, im justt saying that Sony has had its share of failures even though im backing PS3, i still fell the price tag is a bit much.
at least you know, no matter what the results of the war between blu-ray and HD-DVD will be, the PS3 games will be on blu-ray discs.....which means more room for game developers. the 360 will not have games on HD-DVD dics.

Very true, Blu ray supports so much, that game developers throw all versions onto it, so they dont have to specifically make each one for each region, could mean lower cost to consumers.
