Must have gotten better in the last 10 years then, cause it sure used to be, even way back when I was a kid!

Hmm, well my girlfriend is from New Orleans, I go there often. Last hurricane season, I worked doing insurance adjusting around Lake Okeechobee. I was at Belle Glade, which I later found out has the highest violent crime rate in the country. And of course, New Orleans has the highest homicide rate in the country.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_..._by_Crime_Rate

Look at the very end of the last list. I about shit myself when I saw that, realizing that I drove down Martin Luther King Jr. Rd, and had ever Haitian there staring at two white boys in an Acura.

By the way, if you haven't seen the movie City of God, see it. It's one of the best and most complete films out there.
yo Gamma - look for my credit on SFX when you watch it again, i cut all the gunshots and ricos pretty brutal that scene where he shoots the kid eh? when are we shootin again, my fingers are getting itchy! back to the thread, i lived in the 'beach flats' near the Santa Cruz boardwalk in college and there was a ton of sketchy meth/smack/crack addicts and street walkers about, probably alot more unsafe than where i used to hang in Oakland CA

where i grew up in oakland in montclair there were plenty of expensive homes before
the big fire. all those people collected on insurance and built really sick homes with full views of the SF Bay and i don't think it's out of line at all, its just the name 'oakland' that gets a bad rep...as for the westiside being near the shitty areas, are you referring venice beach?

thanks man - glad you like the movie some people got turned off by all the violence but hey, that stuff really happened and the police were complicit in it...it's not like Bad Boys where a million people get shot and you don't care about it and get desensitized to what you're seeing. I'm down for Tuesday! anybody else!
