You can always scale them back :P After we added the legs and thighs the total volume was at 15 liters; kinda gives a rough estimate of the amount of chicken we did. Cooked it filled a full size chafing pan about 2/3-3/4 of the way.

Got to taste test one of the chicken legs right after it came out of the smoker last night; very moist and tender, outer flesh had a noticeable fruity flavor that dissipated as you got closer to the bone. Skinless chicken would likely pick the flavor up better, along with extended marination. Pork and beef being more porous would also pick up the flavor really well.

The pics make me think of a biology class experiment gone awry.

this is what a cuy looks like... if you live in NY or MIA you should have no problems finding it... just go to any Ecuadorian or peruvian store:

My recipe for Chef Boy Are What?

Get 10 cans of whatever can soup/stew/whatever they got on sale at the good ol Five and Dime.

Throw all ten cans into a big pot,
Cut a onion in half and throw it in,
Throw 2 big spoon full of pepper,
Dump in 2 to 3 full cups of vodka or gin (use the good stuff),
Dump in 2 to 3 full cups of bourbon (good stuff need not apply),
Adjust fire to 50% and stir every 5 minutes

Should serve two fat chics or 4 regular people

Enjoy!

When I was in HS I read this article in the National Geo about these canaballistic tribes in the pacific somewhere. They would feed this one guy with all sorts of good stuff and then wack him over the head and spear him through with a big stick and just char broil his ass over a big fire. The chief of the tribe would get the prize, which would be the stomach of the dude they just killed. All that good food he ate before being killed would cook and taste good I guess. Good stuff huh? We should try it sometime.

Shredded BBQ chicken
I just made this yesterday in the crock pot and it is awesome.

a few lbs of boneless, skinless chicken thys (white meat tends to dry out when cooked a long time)
3 onions sliced into 1/8" rings
3 cloves garlic (just take the skin off and flatten them down with the side of a kitchen knife)
1 bottle of bbq sauce
1 bottle of beer (I usually like one that is a little darker but i used a bottle of White Sail and it came out great)

put the sliced onions & garlic cloves in the crock pot first, next throw in the chicken, pour the bbq sauce in and the bottle of beer on top of that.
Put the cover on and cook at low for 7-8 hours.

As you pull the chicken out use two forks and shred it. Put some of the juice from the crock pot over the chicken and maybe a bit more bbq sauce to give it some color. I seperate the onions into a different container and use them on burgers, salads, etc. The chicken is great for making burritos, over veggies, or mix it with a bit of mayo and some chopped onions for a killer bbq chicken salad...
Prep time is 5 minutes, shreading the chicken takes 5 minutes, and the cleanup takes 5 minutes.
The whole thing costs about $12-$15 to make and will make quite a few good sized meals out of just one pot.

What? No rum? What self respecting pirate doesn't add rum to his dishes?
