^^^Good for you man. It's harder to get into the UC schools since they dropped the affirmative action programs. As a consequence, the UC schools are far less diverse than they were before. You go represent and don't ever forget where you came from.
My mom dropped out of Garfield H.S. because she had to work, my dad had to drop out of college because he had to work. And in my mom's side, I was the first to go to college. Naaah man, it's about realizing that there is more to life than livin in poverty. Slowly people are realizing this.
I guess I have a mixed background, because all 4 of the aforementioned were stressed. My parents were never going to settle for anything less. So yeah, I disagree that only those races only put emphasis on just those sole talents. I mean seriously, what parent in their right mind wouldn't stress hard work . . . appliled to anything? Any every set of parents I know stressed the importance of a solid education. For the simple reason that they didn't want their kids do do what their parents did.
Management, is just a side effect of the top 3. You get used to working hard, studing hard, and playing in team sports. That just comes naturally if the individual is ambitious.

I'm not trying to bite your head off, but the statements made remind me of the late great Reggie White when he spoke in the Wisconsin state congress and started rambling about the great qualities that each race has. I know his intentions were noble, I don't think he meant anything wrong by it, but I think his logic was maligned and lacked substance and socio-economic research.
I think if they really cared about making it ethnically diverse, they should have had one person from each race on each team. By separating them by race, it seems more that they are asking for trouble.
What do they do about ethnically diverse peoples? Say for instance Russian/Japanese/Jewish people? Would they cut that team by three people since three ethnic backgrounds are represented?

I consider myself to be quite open-minded and have a good sense of humor. However, I didn't get your joke. Maybe others will, fine.
But this adds to my frusturation of the actual topic at hand . . . There are going to be a lot of confused, or angry individuals either participating or spectating Survivor because Race is a very sensitive subject. What happens when teams get comfortable with another, what happens if the N word is dropped? What happens when a white guys says, "Nigga" as opposed to "Nigger." Or what happens if one of the Latinos is called a wetback or regarded as a good swimmer for hahahaha border control reasons. Is that funny? You see where I'm going with this? Just because we can share humor, doesn't mean that all of us are going to find everything funny.
I think this show is treading into a very delicate and highly volatile situation. I just hope people of all color can laugh at it in the end.
