Looks like I remembered incorrectly. I thought Champcar did low 1:00s back in '96, where as in fact it was 1:07.722 by Helio Castroneves (Team Penske). That threw off my prediction of the F1 lap:

1:07.587

... slower than what I was expecting, albeit being the current track record. Meh!
