So sad Must have been a big trailer to hold that many puppies.
... is that even a safe way to transport them?
Standard container is 40' long by 8' wide by X feet tall. They can easily take a reefer container and modify it with a fan after they pull the AC unit......or leave the AC unit and adjust the temps.
Now that being said, I have never, ever heard of an AC unit on a reefer shorting and causing a fire. This is inexcusable and someone needs to pay for this.

Actually GZ, it was a van/trailer, not a container...so it was most likely a 48' or 53' temp. controlled unit. I know my trucking beotch...
True... I guess it just seems weird to think of a trailer carrying that many cages of puppies. I would think there would be some kind of temperature reading they can see from inside the cab so they know that the temperature is correct in the trailer though? Must have been a quick fire
The temp controls are not in the cab of the truck, but on top of the control unit on the trailer...
There is nothing in the cab that lets them know? Not even controls but just a reading or something? It seems like if they are carrying something that has to be at a regulated temperature there would be something that they could monitor it with...
