I was on my break from work sitting down in a Starbucks in Coronado waiting for my friend to get out of the bathroom. Im sitting right next to the door and a really old white grandpa is struggling to walk towards the door so i stand up and offer to help him with the door.
*intermission*
i was on my break so i had wifebeater on and my pants weren't completely up to my waist (but no undergarments were hanging out) and my velcro straps were undone on my shoes. *End intermission*
Okay, so I'm standing up about to get the door and this old guy looks at me and says..
"What message are you trying to tell me?" "excuse me?"
"Do you know what message youre trying to tell me by the way you're dressed?" "No sir."
"You're telling me you're a damn slob that's up to no good. Go back to China or wherever the hell you're from. We don't need that crap here"
He was right in my face and I was just shocked. i had no idea what to say... just speechless...
So he walks out the door and im looking around if anybody else heard.. and everyone in the starbucks was just STARING at me basically with their jaws dropped and these 2 guys were sitting on a couch near me and one of them was like... dude that was uncalled for... i apologize on his behalf even though i don't know him...
I dont know... maybe my wifebeater offended him or maybe he was just racist... but i think it was the latter because Coronado is a complete beach city (Coronado is an Island)where people wear wifebeaters everywhere and even less....

aww Reem...sorry to hear that. That was uncalled for, but like Partyman said, a lot of old folks still have that racist mentality instilled in them....pretty sad. But I applaud you for proving him wrong and not saying anything back- cuz if you did, you would of only prove him slighty correct...by not doing so...you made him look dumb.
I really dont care about old folks...they can say whatever the hell they want and I'll usually ignore them, I was raised to respect my elders and if I can't, I just ignore them.LOL.
