I'm taking a look at this house at 4pm today and wanted to see if there was anything in particular I should look for to tell how well the house is built, etc. The asking price on the page is wrong it is actually $237K which is about $60K short of most the other houses in the development.

Whats wierd is that is an exact replica of my house, just different brick colour, it says it was built in 2005 and not sure about the USA but here in Canada we get a 3-5 year new house warranty from the builder, and 25 year flooring warranty also. Buying such a new house is pretty worry free from my stand point.
rather than the porsche that's up a block? just what i've seen while riding my bike, there's another G a few houses down, several BMWs, at least 1 Porsche.

Being that it's new construction, you shouldn't have to look for much. Demand a 1yr home protection plan (most sellers provide it nowdays) to cover A/C (needed in AZ), and major appliances, etc. Check any zoning and easement restrictions (ability to build a pool at some point?). Brick construction is great. If you have/plan kids, check the school district.
All-in-all looks like a great place, might need a little landscaping work.
Best of luck.

Not having seen the backyard I'm not 100% sure; but I don't think it's big enough for a pool of any size. That's not a big issue though as my parent's place (where I currently live) is 6/10ths of a mile up the road and we've got a pool there. No plans on kids any time soon, but I think the school district is ok; at least when I'm on the clock and they aren't late with my paycheck.

So the only things wrong with the house I noticed were the 2 chandaliers <sp> were about 4 feet too low they're about shoulder height right now and some fresh water damage in the garage ceiling likely from the AC ducting since it hasn't rained in a week.
Realtor says the brick exterior is structural which if true is an absolute shocker since 90% of the newer brick houses in the area are just decorative brick against the actual wall.
It does have a 1yr warranty covering anything short of damage done by me.
There's 4 speakers in the living room ceiling already which I'm not crazy about (haven't heard an in ceiling speaker that wasn't crap), but I don't think I'd put my home theater in there anyways just a small system for TV and background music. Speaking of TVs the realtor said the seller may include a plasma or lcd tv for the living room or give a purchase allowance for one w/o the price of the house going up any since the room is wired for a TV already but not in a way to support anything but a flat panel.
The lot is bigger than I thought, though putting a pull in the back would eat up most the back yard.
Overall I'm liking it and will probably take another look with someone more knowledgeable along with me.

Damn man I wish we had real estate prices like that here in So Cal. For that you couldn't even buy a parking spot here. Man buy three while you have it good.

you won't really know for sure until its inspected. unfortunately, if there is a problem you're out a few hundred dollars for the inspector. but at least you would find out before you bought it. so I would make sure you're serious before proceeding.

There's realy not such a thing as structural brick. Brick on it's own is not even strong enough to support itself after about 8 feet high, much less the structure of a house. That being said, I'm sure it's real brick on wood framing. Either way, you're fine with it. Brick houses are good all the way around for the most part. In warm clients better then cold climates. They're good from an insulation stand point and good for longevity. I would however be real concerned about the water in the ceiling of the garage. Could just have a full drip pan in an AC unit that's over flowing or something else as minor as that. I would for sure have them replace any drywall that's been effected by the water damage and fix what ever is causing it. Just have an inspector make a good run through it and they'll take care of all those problems.
