First off, I'm not born in USA. So I can call "soccer" football or "football" soccer if I damn well please.
Secondly, I have been to Europe and seen a premiership game. So hoser I may be...but wordly at that. Yes, european games are brutal. Injury and death is not unheard off. Nor is it unheard of for europeans flying to another country to see their team play being deported for a record of causing trouble at matches.
If you want pictures of my friend calling me a hoser isn't exactly a bonus to actually getting me to post them.
You are 100% correct there have been far worse things happen in football besides head butting. However, I thought I would bring up a current event. I didn't realise I would be bombarded by a close minded person who wanted to flame on account that he didn't specify American football from football in his own post.
Perhaps it would have been more intelligent on your behalf to have ignored my football post, or acknowledged it an moved on. I'll recall the posting guidelines :
Be respectful of others. No, we don’t mean you can’t fight and debate with each other (what good is a forum if you can’t do that?), but we don’t want topics deteriorating to name-calling and pointless arguments that go nowhere. Racial attacks will not be tolerated.
Stay on topic. Sure, this is the Off Topic forum, and just about anything goes, but excessive thread jacking or too many threads about nothing (or the same thing) doesn’t make the community better.
No Spam. It will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be publicly ridiculed, then banned.
No Nudity. Ok. Yeah. We know. Naked is fun! But many of our users read the forum when they’re at work. Use common sense when posting images. If you absolutely must share images, use PM, email or hide the image behind a link.
Don’t post just to increase your post count (Post Whoring). We know it’s all fun and games, but honestly, post counts don’t mean anything. Really. We want you all to contribute, but do it in a meaningful way. Threads that get out of hand will be locked.
Last but not least, have fun. This is your community. You built it, and you will continue to make it a great place to visit. Anyone who thinks “having policies = no fun” probably ought to to pull that stick out of their...er...nm.
On that note...I'm done posting here. I'll not further this debate any farther than its been taken.
