05 with less than 20K on the odometer. Fully optioned and certified used (7 years 100K from original in service date bumper to bumper not powertrain only). If you're payment didn't change or went up a negligible amount would you do it? Any other thoughts and/or experiences welcome.
I'd only consider it if I were looking to keep it on the street exclusively. There are mixed reviews when it comes to reliability. And even though there is a CTS-V race team, that car is extremely highly modified.
If you are looking for a roomy comfortable 4 door that can draw looks and smoke the tires when you want it to it's definitely a contender.
Does the '05 come with a LS6 or the LS2? I'm not sure about which year they switched them.

I hear what you are saying. It's not gonna be a track car but so far neither is my 6mt G sedan. The reason it appeals to me is that it's a bit roomier than the G sedan and a bit more space would be great when hauling clients around. There seem to be some aftermarket upgrades for the engine, but if I did anything it would be to the suspension, intake and exhaust only.
The 04/05 come with the ls6 while the 06+ comes with the ls2. Any pros and cons you've heard about these two. If I sell the G it will be replaced with something that has more performance. Any other contenders you can think of in this price range with superior performance to the G? Looking for something barely used, certified being a plus. Oh yeah, 6mt and sedan are a must.

Can't really think of anything in that class unless you can find a M5 that someone has been babying in their garage for a couple of years. I think that it would be awesome for hauling clients in. It's got class and power, two things that you probably want your business persona to reflect.
I think that the LS2 has been more reliable than the LS6 so far, but the LS2 really hasn't been around all that long.
I say go for it.

You know, I would have said the same thing a couple years ago before the angular styling. The idea has grown on me lately and whats not to like about about a naturally aspirated V8 pushing 400 hp in a 6mt sedan. My problem is I want a sports car but need a sedan lol
caddy's are for old people.....except the escalade which are young hip urbanites.....
I used to think the same thing but in this particular market segment this vehicle seems to be a performance bargain. The only other vehicle that would be similar performance and $$$ wise would be an M5 but that would certainly be an older one with its warranty getting a big short. I don't know, this domestic performer idea seems to be growing on me a bit.....
I would look at the STS-V as well, a bit pricier, but a different platform, more hp, and a nicer car.
Thanks for the suggestion but i think the STS will be a bit more than I want to spend. This idea was hatched due to relatively no change in monthly payment, plus the STS is a lil too big for me.
