MUSIC and SOUND:
the music in Superman Returns was very complementary as well.
i believe it played a HUGE part in making everything flow.
the sound effects were kickass too.
no dinky wind noises or laser sounds.
Yeayuh! I got the soundtrack. I'm just glad John Ottman (the composer) did not let his ego go over himself and incorporated the old themes from John Williams. Just enough to give the same taste, but not the same dish!

There is approximately 20 min. worth of 3D enhanced scenes. They are extrapolated from the original scenes using a computer (viewers will be prompted when to put on the glasses). I'm sure it'll be neat, but I'd still pass on it. No amount of 3D can offset the usual IMAX caveats. Seating locations is critical for an IMAX setup. If you didn't manage to secure the rear half of the seats and towards the center, be sure to bring a neck brace. Keep in mind IMAX auditoriums aren't all that big compare to conventional ones.

There's also the issue with projecting a non IMAX film onto an IMAX screen. One, the 35/70mm film stock's a far cry from the IMAX's - resulting in grainier pictures. Two, since the original film did not have IMAX in mind, it suffers from excessive lateral run about, where you find yourself following the animates from one sideo of the screen to the other - it becomes fatiguing after a while. A true IMAX film takes advtantage of the extra real esate for peripheral vision oversaturation, which does not require excessive eye or head movements.

I really liked it but the end kind of dragged on...it definitely could have been shorter.

finally saw it, but in a regular theater. The showtimes for IMAX just did not fit any of my friends schedules.

Anyway.... I thought the movie was awesome but it did drag on in a couple of places. It could have easily been 2 hr long even or even 1:50

anyway - great action scenes - the plane catch was awesome!!

Movie made superman look more volnerable (human) at times, which made it more belieavable.

I also felt like the movie left a lot of loose ends.... like "superboy" ?????? - sorry if that spoils for anyone, but it is kind of obvious after the first couple of scenes.

I predict they will make at least 2 more! especially with the sucess of this movie.

saw it and loved it... my girlfriends and I could not stop saying "awww...he's so cute!"
Gotta to say...Brandon Routh is the best looking Superman ever!

But they could of done better with Louis Lane... The 'chemistry' just wasn't quite there....

Not hating... I love Angelina Jolie but she wouldn't make a great Lois Lane either....

I don't know who would make a great Lois Lane... but I just feel they could of done better. She was cute in the Ted Hamilton movie but then she had bangs... and in Superman...she just looks like she got a hugh forehead.

having a different opinion from you doesn't make me a hater.

Hasn't that always been Lex Luthor's reason, money?

Kind of hard to follow Terri Hatcher IMO.

No matter how many superman movies I see, I can't help but laugh about how nobody recognizes that Clark is Superman. Glasses don't make you look that different and in this movie, nobody notices that Clark and Superman both dissappear for 5 years to the day and then both show up again inexplicably at the same time.

Example:

I too watch Smallville and it took a little getting used to coming from that to seeing this movie.. mainly with the acting styles of Spacey vs Rosenbaum and the differences between how they handle the special effects of Superman in Smallville. Martha Kent is an old bag in this movie too.

Ditto. We joke about that quite a bit too. Must be the curl (hair) above the forehead.

Also, didn't Lois find out Clark = Superman in Superman II??? It's been a while ... I can't remember what happened with that.
