If I ever catch that ^*&^&*%&%& Guy who created it[timebomb]..It has been a nightmare trying to get my 2 Computers back in order.
The first one got it and kept restarting over and over again. There was nothing I could have done to prevent it from restarting. It also refused to allow me to go to www.symantec.com or windowsupdate.microsoft.com. It kept saying "Unable to open Search Page"
I had to use a neighbour's Windows ME machine (not affected by this crap) to download the software and run it on the PC to remove it. There's a million things you need to do to kick it out.
I finally got it out of both PCs'; the second PC never had it as bad, because I had Symantec updated which helped to slow it down, but couldn't prevent it.
I stringly recommend you visit this Microsoft link to get your Microsoft Patch to keep the Blaster bitch out permanently.
You can also get the removal tool from Symantec.com and have it on a floppy just in case. This crap is spreading and I really recommend you prepare just in case

Boot off something other than your Windows install and delete the offending file.

I suggest scheduling your computer to hit Windows Update every week or so and download patches to things before they become a problem. There was a fix for this on Windows Update for about a month if memory serves but no one took it seriously until people started having trouble...
Sucks you had to screw around with some moron's idea of a joke though.
hey craig, my computer also got hit...but mine wasn't restarting it was just freezing up after a few minutes of use. The screen would get pixelized and thats it...i would have to restart...i had about 4 minutes of use before the computer froze and if i dond't use the computer it was fine. It was a pain in the ass getting that shit out..

With 3% market share, they make for a pretty small target next to that of the Windows world.

I'm pretty sure there have been, but we'd never hear about it. When there's a windows virus, it spreads like wildfire and brings down companies and makes the news. When there's a mac virus...no one cares.
If you must know, it's because it's a more secure operating system. Don't you think all the Windows loving hackers out there would love to bring down all Macs? They've been trying, believe me. It's a more secure OS.
Well the virus has seriously fucked up my computer and I don't know what to do. I have tried every fix and none of them are fucking working. I just got into my apartment at college today and everything is great here, but I am pretty pissed off about this virus.

Bullshit.

I'm going to side with Semi on this one. Viruses hit PCs so hard because they're so common--most PCs are connected to hundreds of others, etc. Macs are not often in that situation.
Also, the most dangerous viruses are written to cause damage, and you're not going to hurt the world by writing a mac virus.

Another well thought out response Semi. [bowdown]
Yeah, I got it. My computer would get to the startup screen, and just stop. I had to format my hard drive to get it to do anything..Oh well, I can't do anything about it now.[dunno]
