Anybody from Pittsburgh got any news on this. From the little I've heard it doesn't sound good.

Update:
The Steelers have confirmed that Ben Roethlisberger was involved in a motorcycle accident on Monday, KDKA-TV reports. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said the accident happened on Second Avenue near the 10th Street Bridge.
Recommendation:
Reports from the scene seem to indicate that the accident was serious. According to an eyewitness, Roethlisberger went over his handle bars and hit his head on the windshield of a car. He was not wearing a helmet. The eyewitness reports that Roethlisberger tried to get up, but was bleeding from the head. We'll update the situation as further details become available.
PA lifted the law that required helmuts be worn when riding on a bike about 2 years ago and about have the people on bikes i see now don't wear helmuts...
Word from my friend's boss's sister who works at Mercy is that he has a broken jaw. Take that with a grain of salt though.

wow...Big Ben is mashed up pretty bad. Don't count on him any time soon.
Quote:
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is in serious but stable condition and in surgery this afternoon following a serious head injury this morning after his motorcycle collided with a car on Second Avenue near the 10th Street Bridge, police said.
Roethlisberger lost most of his teeth, fractured his left sinus cavity bone, suffered a nine-inch laceration to the back of his head and a broken jaw, and severely injured both of his knees when he hit the ground, police said.
A plastic surgeon has been summoned.
"He is right now in the (operating room) undergoing some surgery from injuries he received in this accident today," said Dr. Larry Jones, chief of trauma and burns at Mercy Hospital, Uptown. ... He was talking to me before he left for the OR. He's coherent. He's making sense. He knows what happened."
I feel bad for him. I don't like the Steelers or anything but that's still pretty sad, he may have messed up his career just to not wear a helmet. That's pretty dumb.

OH the Chargers message board there's this girl who's from Pittsburgh, she says people are crying going home from work, like if Kennedy was shot all over again. Crazy shit, much luck to the Steelers but not really. lol
I really hope Ben make a full recovery though. You bet your ass he'll either a. wear a helmet or b. not ride again.
I wonder how this will impact his ability to play?? If he is lost to the Steelers for any extended period of time, that is a big blow to their chances to repeat.
