FastForward...Do you got to Korea Town any in LA? I've actually never been there and am looking forward to it. We should get a bunch of people here off the forums and go for some Korean food or something.
I was born in Seoul, but moved here when i was only 5months old. I'll be traveling back in March though! Pretty excited.

I'm down. What a site that would be. I group of Korean foos and me. Hey, I might be Latino but I still luv the Asian shawties.
My travels to Korea were for business, not vacation (unfortunately). Still had a good time. One of my contract manufacturers was Samsung. Great people, and great food (except for the Samsung cafeteria - what an oppressive dining experience).
In LA, I've only been to Koreatown once, I tend to frequent J-town or Chinatown more. But I'm open to anything.
That's great. I've been there for both business and pleasure many times. I was actually stationed at the DMZ (Joint Security Area) with 2nd ID and was also at Camp Bonifas. For those of you who don't know Camp B is the most forward of all UN bases in the Korean Peninsula. The camp literally sits inside the DMZ and our motto there is, "In front of them all". That was a fun time, showering, sleeping, eating, basically doing everything with a full combat load and live ammo 24/7. I'd love to get my 3 day leaves to go to town in Seoul. But I've actually lived, for months at a time, in Seoul and used to visit there often. My parents used to have a business there. So I'm very familiar with the city and most parts of the country. One thing I have to say is that Korea is a "man's" country. If you're a man and you have some money, it's literally heaven.

speaking of korean.... any suggestions on any good recent Korean Dramas or movies??? Im really into them... last ones i saw were... "Full House" and Autumn in my Heart"
COOL! a couple of my friends from Uni are viet! The one is actually back in vietnam right now hahaha.
Hope you are able to find a new korean drama! its hard to come by them here on the east coast w/o ordering them from a site ToT. I'd say my top pick of those three is probably "my sassy girl". Cha Tae-Hyun and Jeon Ji-Hyun are the stars....both great actor and actress. You should find this enjoyable. Here is the description on yesasia.com:
See the movie that started a phenomenon! Before going on to helm such films as The Classic and Windstruck, director Kwak Jae Yong delighted audiences with My Sassy Girl, an irresistible comedy that was number one at the Korean box office and even took Hong Kong cinemas by storm!
Based on a true story published on the internet by Kim Ho Sik, this offbeat 2001 romantic comedy stars Cha Tae Hyun (Lover's Concerto and Sad Movie) as Kyun Woo, an all-around nice guy college student who's on the lookout for love. While his aunt has been trying to set him up on a blind date for ages, Kyun Woo has always come up with a reason to decline, instead hoping to find the woman of his dreams all on his own. What Kyun Woo finds instead, however, is a decidedly different kind of woman. While on the subway, he has a fateful encounter with "The Girl," a beautiful, but totally plastered young woman played by Jeon Ji-Hyun. Kyun Woo tries to ignore the girl's drunken antics, but when she ends up calling him "Honey," before promptly passing out, the duty falls upon our protagonist to take responsibility for the young woman since everyone on the train angrily presumes she's his girlfriend. Kyun Woo's forced act of kindness ends up kick-starting a bizarre sort of relationship between the two, as the charming, but violence-prone woman starts putting our hapless hero through numerous humiliations! Kyun Woo bears with it all, becoming both a figurative and literal punching bag for this manic young woman, but as he gets to know her better, he begins to realize that there's something deeper lurking beneath her tough girl facade. What secret does she hold? And what will it mean for their wacky, yet strangely tender relationship? See for yourself in My Sassy Girl, the film that made a bonafide superstar out of Jeon Ji Hyun, who went on to win the Best Actress Award at the 2001 Grand Bell Awards in South Korea! It's the rare Korean film in which the phrase "Wanna Die?" never sounded so sweet!
I can ask my friends in Seoul what the newest hit movies are there as well. Maybe they can give us slow poke asian-americans a idea for korean dramas hahaha.
i saw my sassy girl a few years ago....its pretty good....old boy is good too.....yesasia is expensive though.....you should search for movie reviews there and buy from ebay....
Yeah...yesasia is espensive as heck. I like annyoung.com better. There are a few others out there i'll have to search my Macs book marked sites for them. I don't use this PC for much of anything...POS...haha.
