Juice in Baseball is as common as juice in football and steroids weren't banned in the NFL until the early 80s. Everyone took them back then and way before then. I can't necessarily knock athletes for taking performance enhancing drugs to aid their careers - you know why? Because that's what we want. On Sunday, I want my Raider line to kill the opponents qb or rb. I want them to decleat whoever is back there. I want them to feel pain. I want to see the 2,000 yard rusher, I want the RB to look like Earl Campbell plowing through the lines!

Do you really think these guys could survive and keep up with the train wreck collisions in pro sports without performance enhancing drugs? How could a RB get the shit beat out of him and still get 2,000 yards a season? You think cortizone is the only thing they inject? Do you really think it's just the better off-season physical therapy that keeps these guys healthier?

What about pro wrestlers that kids adore and view as walking Gods? Hulk Hogan, the Rock, my old school favorite Ultimate Warrior? It's a fact that they juiced up, why don't we question them? There's a hall of fame for wrestlers now, is the fact that an professional wrestler juices up just quietly understood?

Back to Baseball, I'm still in awe of the Babe. So many records have withered the test of time when baseball was still in its infancy. I give the man his credit. But I think UT is right, Hank Aaron is the man and many people in this country didn't want H.Aaron to break his record because he was Black. Same types of people didn't like Jack Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Jackie Robinson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar or Hank Aaron no matter how good they were in the game.

The colored athlete in America cannot be pompous, arrogant, and self-proclaimed greatest. He's got to be the Joe Lewis or the Michael Jordan. Good smile, friendly, the patriot, humble, attractive and out going. If he's different, he can't be a" bad boy" like White athletes and cannot be adored or spokesmen or role modesl for kids.

For example, I'm still in awe that Kobe was 4th in the MVP voting and I believe it's because he's not liked. He's deemed as arrogant, a womanizer, and a spoiled sport. His talent was overwhelming and I do believe that he's the greatest basketball player playing right now, but 4th in the overall voting? Give me a break.
wow, i didnt know bonds could break football records too... now i know he's juiced

Actually that wasn't it. I agree that the reason he was passed over for MVP was because he is hated.

I find it real hard to believe that UTROD says he's not a racist. If you're not a racist, you don't have to cover your ass after you make a blatent racist comment. Reverse racism is the worse thing ever in this country. I will never defend white, black or brown racists. If you feel like you have to defend yoursel, there's a reason.

Bonds was great before all this came up. He's an incredible athelete and that's the bottom line. As fame comes, so does alligations. That's life unfortunately. If you're in the spot light, you have to be doubly careful of everything you do. Eyes are always on you.

UTROD, I'm not jumping you, I don't even know you. And until this thread would have had no idea you were black. So just take these comments for what they are. It just seems that people are so quick to throw racism out there these days. I thought we got through all that and lived as people in today's world. Hell, we're both minorities now here in Texas and I love it. Would not live any where else.

He has juiced, no question and yes he's still a great player, but he's a cheat. Please compare him against the other cheaters. Plus back in the day there was no gear, no protective helmets........one good drilling and you're dead back in the day of the Babe.

The Babe was not just good, he was so far beyond anyone of the time (even with the lefty friendly field he played at) that his heights looked like they would never be equaled..........plus who's to say that the Babe isn't black?

Not me. I want to be able to compare the men of today versus the pioneers of yesterday. While top to bottom the men are mostly better physical athletes and the talent pool is deeper, isn't there something to be said about being the best ever? If you cheat, and knowingly do so, what's the point? What does that say about the man and those of us that admire them?

Everything is more advanced now. There actually is protective gear and it works well, preventative medicine, sports nutrition, medical reconstruction, you name it, it's all better now than in the early years. Unfortunately some people like tooting their own horns rather than play natural. The old time football pioneers played with leather "helmets," with metal spikes, for piddly sums of money. Yes it's a dangerous game, but it used to be more so back in the day, make no mistake of it. Hell in baseball guys still get taken down with the great helmets of today, in the early 20th century it wasn't uncommon for someone to die when they took a ball to the head.

WTF are you talking about? When the hell was the last time you watched an NFL or NBA game...............it's filled with nothing but these kinds of douchebags.
