I dunno, $100 is less than 3 tanks of gas. And how much is it going to cost to cut the checks and mail them out? That money has to come from somewhere...

I'd rather the gov't reduce its bloat in personel and expenditures and leave the savings in people's paychecks.

+1 just what we need another multi-billion dollar knee-jerk reaction. How about investing that money into alternative energy supply research???

wouldn't it be better if they didn't give back the money (plus the additional costs of sending the checks and whatnot) and instead reduced the tax on gasoline so the price itself would go back down jus a smidge

Whole-heartedly agree!

Unfortunately, some people are dumb enough to be bought with a notion like this!

Of course they will give out $100 checks and then raise the cost of fuel to offset it...

You know they can take their sh1tty $100 pay off money. I'd rather settle for every congressman/woman coming to my house to mow the damn lawn for a day. Wait, I don't have a lawn anymore, but I can find a nice high school field for them to mow. Of course, it'll be with a pair of sheers. Then and only then, I might find it in my heart to buy them a tank of gas back to wherever they're going.
