i know most of you aren't into DMB.. but by chance a few of you are... VERY good stuff... and if you aren't - maybe give it a shot.
and sorry it's so long...
now for the story for the "lesser" of DMB fans...
this was done back around 2000 with producer Steve Lillywhite (hence "Lillywhite Sessions") after most of the songs were road tested and liked very much by fans, which anticipated them to be released as an album... they instead got Everyday which is considered to be the "worst" DMB album by most hardcore fans. things fell thru with Lillywhite and Everyday was recorded with Stephen Harris... (by rumor in 10 days) and is just a joke of an album in comparision to all other DMB material.
after possibly maybe the fact that fans wanted those songs... most were re-recorded with Harris... and that is what you all know as Busted Stuff. (title make sense now?)
BS - while it is great IMO, did not compare to LWS to the hardcore fans... and i agree to a point... but they are different.
most consider Busted Stuff to be at the bottom of the list.. while LWS was near the top - maybe the best ever done.
well... recordings of LWS have always floated around online... but now they have been mastered VERY well - just 1-2 weeks ago - and that's what this download is. mostly songs from Busted Stuff... but well, different lyrics, much more life, much better production... and a few songs that did not make it onto Busted Stuff...
tracklist:
1- Busted Stuff
2- Grey Street
3- Diggin' a Ditch
4- Sweet Up and Down
5- JTR
6- Big Eyed Fish
7- Grace is Gone
8- Captain
9- Bartender
10- Monkey Man
11- Kit Kat Jam
12- Raven
notes:
Sweet Up and Down, JTR, and Monkey Man are unreleased songs (studio)
JTR has been played live often but the other two... are very rare songs to have.
Kit Kat Jam has lyrics on this... whereas it did not on Busted Stuff... (much better with lyrics, IMO)
enjoy.
for anyone concerned about legality of posting this... it's completely legal - DMB allows free sharing of UNRELEASED material (live shows... and well this too) haha

So is this any better quality than the previous released Lillywhite sessions?
Belows a list of what I've got.

Listening to the tracks back to back (new copy, then old) and at least on my speakers here at work I can't really tell a lot of difference.
