Beanie you should wear a set of foam ear plugs. You cannot gain back the hearing you lose and I doubt your health insurance is going to catch the entire cost of hearing aids. My uncle and one of the guys I work with have hearing aids. Damn those things are several thousand bucks........more than a great set of wheels & tires.

I've got a set of these and these. Ordered them for use at the range, but they arrived after my last trip. They do a really good job of blocking out sound when combined together.

Somehow I don't think those second ones would be a good option

The first ones I keep as a spare. I also have a set of ear muffs that are blue and disributed by Colt. But nothing beats having these:

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/earplugstore/jbcuearpl.html

I had some custom made at a gun show with my preferred color. They fit nice and snug and take care of most of the loud BANGS you hear at a range. If someone is firing a howitzer, then I'll put the muffs ontop of my plugs. Outdoors however, these plugs are the shit.

Nah, unfortunately callsigns are offically given to fighter pilots only. They get together and then try to decide the callsign you'll get and have a party and shit. The funny thing is it's nothing that has to do with anything cool. For example there was this instructor named Killer and I was like that's a cool name. But the story behind it was that when he was backing out of his driveway he ran over his neighbor's cat and killed it. Anyways, I'm a heavy driver so we don't get offical callsigns just nicknames. Mine is Wang because my name is JohnSon and I'm an Asian johnson hence a wang. Go figure. But it's all good I'm getting out in about a month. Right now I'm on vacation. When you separate from the Air Force they give you a thing called permissive TDY so it's basically a paid vacation.
