I was nearly killed on the slope when my 3 months old Burton Mission™ snowboard bindings decided to self destruct, leading to a spetaular spill! It happened during a routine heel-edge carve, albeit at a good pace. It happened so suddenly. All I heard was a loud snap and the front end of the board get away from me, as my leading foot/boot detached. How I even managed to fetched all the broken pieces was still a mystery to me. The pieces were littered in a long trail of mayhem. Fortunately I was not seriously hurt in the process or B's getting a law suit. Unfortunately, I still managed to hurt myself (or re-aggrevate the injured right shoulder) when I took yet another major spill later in the the day.
An obvious manufacturing defect! No one has seen such a failure at the pro shop. Gah! I was glad the guys at Kirwood resort were kind enough to lend me one of their Mission binding, so I didn't have to cut the day short.
1. Yes, they do suck Glad it didn't happen on "The Wall"
2. Your fall looked pretty bad... thought for sure you had hurt your shoulder that time.
3. Where are the teeny pieces that I hiked up the slope to get? :squint:
4. Kirkwood employees are so cool! \m/ >__< \m/
5. Glad that I didn't have to get ski patrol to pick you up after that last fall >___< Thanks for the hike (again) Just kidding. Glad you were okay!

yeah, that wouldn't have been pretty if it were to go pop at "The Wall". *shivers* Incidently, I think running "The Wall" prior to the failure was what fatigued the one binding. Still, that'd be a total manufacturing defect. hehe ... can't seem to find the 'teeny pieces' you fetched. They are probably still in the jacket pockets (too small to fish out!). The particular Kirkwood employee (Gavin) at the pro shop was most definitely cool. He hooked it up. I was very worried that I may have to be sled down by the medic doggie after the 2nd spill. You're very welcome with the hike!
I wish I was there to see your amazing falls... always the highlight of my day. I'll be sure to bring a camera next time.
Unfortunately our trip to The Wall wasn't as entertaining as the last time we had all gone up but the snow on it was way better - way less ice! Wish you would have been able to make the trip with us
I think a camera is always needed when boarding with him ^___^v
