Default So you love your G, but what's your 2nd/3rd choice for daily driver?

After reading the Honda Type R thread, I thought about this topic and thought it might be interesting.

I used to dream about an M3, but after having my G for nearly a year now and with the mods I've put into it, I am more than happy with it and I'm not envious anymore. However, she's not very good on gas and sometimes she's too powerful for just an errand run.

So with that in mind, and pretend you have a garage plus a driveway to house 3 cars (if you currently do, don't gloat), What would be your other 2 choices?

Heres mine:

Mini Cooper S. I'd supercharge it and mod it too. It would still get good gas mileage, it's small and distinctively different. Turning radius is superb and I wouldn't mind if I banged it up either. This could be my other daily driver.

Toyota Tundra or Tacoma. I think if a man can afford a house, a man should also have a pickup truck. It's not set in stone, but having a truck helps so much.

Truck.

I chose a Tacoma and love it. You can beat the snot out of them and they never give in plus they get pretty good fuel economy and are good all-around vehicles.

Toyota really does make quality vehicles.

Well, the plan is that the G is the daily driver and the weekend toy would be a Zo6 Vette. Still working on the vette though. I have a 6mt G sedan though so it's a good mix of fun and practical.

It would be nice to have an old school cruiser as well. An old Lincoln with suicide doors or Impala or something.

And I wholeheartedly agree about needing a truck when you own a home, especially if you bought a fixer upper. There are just too many household weekend projects to not have a utility vehicle. Right now I've got a 91 full size Bronco that I absolutely love.

Well, if it was to tool around in and get errands done, I think I'd want a Toyota Prius (hybrid vehicle). Pretty much forget about gas prices and do your part for the environment.

My second one would be a SUV, something like a Nissan Xterra or something like that so i can just be brutal to it. Now, just to let you know, I'm not very particular to large cars. Although I'm a large dude I've never liked big, heavy, slow cars. I guess it comes from the fact that motorcyles were my first love. But I've driven trucks/suv's before and man they are so practical. Just sort of go anywhere and do anything type of cars.

One of my all time "gotta have it" cars is the Lincoln with the suicide doors. So cool that car. I've seen a few around at Hollywood clubs and usually it's some celeb that rolls up in it. But man, that car is one kick ass ride. I'd love to have it to just cruise.

I already gave the answer in the Type R thread but I will repeat it for this one. I would get The Civic SI for my daily driver and the G for weekends/occasional weekday driver.

Thats what I'm talking bout. A sunday cruiser- straight classic. One of these days I'm gonna pick something old school up from the junkyard and restore it. Unfortunately I've got other projects that need attention before I can embark on a mission like that.

actually, after having our kid, we're leaning towards the volvo v70 turbo r wagon. we test drove it a few weeks ago and my wife fell in love with it. it's pretty quick and very stable...and it doesn't look half bad.

Toyota Prius, that's a sound ecological choice. Good for you. You know there are people on a waiting list to buy those and they're paying over sticker! Perks are a low gas bill and you get to use the carpool lane. But why are they so damn ugly? If the design of the car were to improve, I might consider it.

The wife's got an SUV, a Toyota Sequoia. I think it's a boat, a gas guzzler, and a boring design, but damn that thing comes in handy. She claims that in a car accident, it would be safer in her car than in my G, I personally don't think so. I don't buy this bullshit theory that SUV's are safer cars. However, when people visit, it sure is easier to pack her SUV than my G.

they arent safer than a regular car cuz their potential for rolling over offsets any other advantages

So would that be 2nd choice Z06, 3rd choice 911T ... or are you okay with just one of those cars.
