So thoughts/opinions on this guy? $1,749 local before tax, or there's the 42" for $1,799 - 10% off before taxes from BestBuy also. I've not seen the 42 or 46, but the 56" in that line has a gorgous HD picture and nearly equals my current set on SD even though the feed was being split 10 ways.

You guys notice that Kloh and I have stayed out of this one? I can't speak for him, but it looks like a lot of work to get involved. And no, I don't know why I'm posting this useless dribble except I enjoy the sound of my keyboard.

Point is, each of these technologies has been done right AND wrong depending on manufacturer, model revision, etc. Add to that all the input types available and personal viewing habits and you've got a mix of winners and losers, regardless of format.
But I love my Sony SXRD and honestly haven't seen a negative comment (from formal sources) yet with regard to picture quality.

i saved a lot of money ordering my tv online...but i made sure it was an authorized dealer otherwise the warranty might not have been effective. the delivery was painless and the tv arrived without any damage whatsoever. you might be able to get a better deal this way. just my .02...i was going to say the usc/arkansas game would look great on the 56" HD but you'll probably be AT the game!
